- bbalilesAsheville, North Carolina2 contributionsSpa at Omni Grove Park InnI booked a mountain honey pedicure with Mary and it was relaxing and rejuvenating. I had an amazing spa day. The spa facilities are incredible! All of the pools are so refreshing and I especially loved the saunas and the steam rooms. A great day of self care.Written 15 February 2024
- Olivia T2 contributionsBlissful Spa ExperienceWas lucky enough to spend a half day at the Grove Park Spa and had a heavenly experience. My spa concierge, Melanie F., showed me around the spa and was very knowledgeable about all the spa offerings. She made sure I was comfortable from the get go. Mary was my massage therapist for the Head in the Clouds massage and it was so relaxing I fell asleep a few times during it. My body felt like butter after that in addition to the hot tubs, plunge pool, sauna and steam rooms. The only complaint I had is that there were absolutely no lounge chairs to lay in from the time I got there, until 4pm, as people were holding them for hours on end with towels and personal items. The spa could do a better job of informing ppl that they can’t hold chairs while they get a massage. This way, every paying customer would get a chance to lay down. Other than that, the spa was wonderful as always!Visited March 2024Travelled soloWritten 6 March 2024
- CandOTRAVEL4 contributionsSee Michelle for the best pedicure of your lifeI had the Mountain Honey Pedicure with Michelle. This was the best pedicure I have ever had. Michelle is highly knowledgeable, professional and friendly. Her service includes foot-reflexology massage, very luxurious, and makes you feel refreshed all over, especially considering the walking involved with sightseeing in the area. I would highly recommend Michelle, and this marvelous first-class spa.Visited April 2024Travelled with familyWritten 6 April 2024

- Racheal K4 contributionsLower Level Excellence at a Higher Cost15 years ago when we started coming to GP it was magic. The spa day pass was $75 unless you were staying on site then there was no charge. It increased to $100 which was still reasonable. It increased again to $125 but now you have to stay on site. Still ok. NOW it's $240/pp per day AND you have to stay on site. Our spa access was more expensive than our nightly rate. $4000 for two nights for two people for mid level service is honestly just gross. Fire pits are turned on at 8:00 am but off before sunset. There was a time where sitting outside by the fire, enjoying a glass of red wine, while watching the sunset was glorious. Those days are long gone.Written 16 September 2024

This place definitely was not for me. I found it difficult to relax because of the amount of staff watching me. My spouse, who has a hearing problem, got reprimanded in an extremely rude way by a staff member for speaking too loudly under one of the loud fake waterfalls. Also it is often very crowded from what I heard and experienced. If you like crowded cramped spaces where people glare at you if you talk in a normal tone of voice then you might enjoy yourself. I think they should warn people ahead of time that they need to whisper and not mind having a lack of privacy.

The gingerbread event is not organized at all for the public viewing. We have tried to view the houses three time just to be turned away. The website said they were open for public. The first time we tried was in the middle of the day, but the guard said they were full and to come back in the morning. Next morning at 9:30 we were turned around saying that the fire marshal limited the number of visitors and our best bet to get in would be after 8 PM. That night, when we arrived at 8, the parking attendant said they were closed for visitors for the rest of the Christmas weekend, contrary to their website. Clearly, by that time my children were having a hard time being disappointed again and the parking attendant was very rude saying take this noise out of here. It happens every year and the management has not attempted to resolve the issue. I am sure any kind of reservation could be in place, but they seem to enjoy belittling the people who can’t afford their overpriced accommodations. Just stop the whole event all together or make it accessible and structured.

Understandably there were many restrictions due to COVID, however we were so looking forward to staying at the Grove Park Inn.
I chose an upgraded room for 450.00 plus per night. The quality of the room was less than expected. I can equate the quality to a standard room at a Hampton Inn. After making the reservation I was then told i could not get a reservation for dinner at the Edison and Sunset. I had enough and i decided to make it known to the management that I was upset that I could not get a reservation. Well guess what, I had three reservations in the next ten minutes. Thank you to the manager for at least making a effort to make our stay more enjoyable. I must say the breakfast & dinners were wonderful as was the servers.
We chose to have housekeeping each day and the first day our room was cleaned but the water, cups, shampoo, etc was not replaced. The next day, our room was never cleaned so then we didn't have any towels, water, cups, shampoo, etc.
Not let me tell you about the Golf. After we checked in and paid for the golf, 140.00 per round per person, we were informed that it was cart path only. we chose to play and for a course that demands that kind of money, it was a disgrace. The greens were in horrible shape. There was no water or bathrooms available and there was no Ranger. Therefore, we had a foursome in front of us and we had to wait on every shot on every hole.
I am sure that because of the Covid situation, many services have been suspended or curtailed. That is all understandable but there has not been any consideration in terms of your room rates and amenities. This experience was far from the 5 star vacation we had hoped for. I don't see us ever returning to The Grove Park Inn.

Improve customer service. The staffs oh well attitude is inexcusable. The lines for everything made it feel like an amusement park not a fine resort. 20 minutes standing in line for a drink in the evening to another 15 minute wait in line for a simple coffee in the morning. Had a gift card to use but every time we tried the staff said oh these are a pain, the gift shops apparently are separate from OMNI. The food we did eat at the Grove Park was just ok. The best experience we had was with the housekeeping staff who brought us an extra pillow with a "my pleasure"!

Our sincerest apologies for a less than word class experience at the Inn. We are disheartened to hear about these interactions with our staff. Rest assured this is not typical behavior or guest treatment at our hotel. We have shared your feedback with all hotel leaders across departments to ensure our associates’ behavior is consistently of the highest caliber. Thank you for sharing this feedback.

If we return we will SEE and go over room amenities, etc before we book it. Mountain Views are incredible, grounds impeccable, and food and service top notch. Our premium mountain view king room $$$$ was absolutely disappointing. No outlets on desk for devices except one surge strip behind the bed, which we had to move to use it. And another behind the TV and on one nightstand. The bed was hard and lumpy, linens and pillows were old and pilled. We are checking out a day early because my husband said he could not sleep on that mattress one more night. I called housekeeping for more coffee and extra pillows and they brought them immediately with a smile!

My Husband recently surprised me with a Spa day for our 30th wedding anniversary. Our day began with a couples massage at 9:30AM. I had very high expectations, this Spa is advertised as "World Class." The massages were average at best. My husband could not wait to get off the table. His therapist spent minutes away from him fiddling and clanking around. His "massage" was rushed, she spent a great deal of time applying pressure to his back instead of the therapeutic, relaxing massage we paid an extremely high price for, HUGE let down.
The pools and amenities in the spa were relatively nice, however, I was disappointed that we had to spend a great deal of time apart to enjoy the saunas and contrast pool. The Spa cafe is over-priced with mediocre food. It was advertised that the cafe served pool side, this was not available the day we were there. We left the pool and spent an hour inside the cafe for small portions and bland food. Upon our return to the Spa we had to wait to be admitted back into the designated area.
Overall, I was extremely disappointed in the massage experience, we've had better in Jamaica, various vacation spots and locally for a fraction of the price. When you advertise "world class" the bar automatically is set to a high standard. Therapists, atmosphere, and the experience should reflect the high standard advertised especially when paying a very high price, services received should exceed expectations!

Booked massages and spent a lovely day at the spa on a chilly November day.
Of the three of our group, everyone was very happy with their massages and the talented masseuses. We then had a wonderful time enjoying the rest of the facility. We got a great tour at the very beginning showing us each space and then tried it all - hot / cold plunge pools, outdoor hot tub / pool, indoor therapeutic waterfall pools, and then the large indoor mineral pool. We all agreed we had not experienced a spa facility this large and varied anywhere else in the US.
We will definitely come back. Book far in advance. We booked massages in June for our November visit and even then there was very limited availability.

I’m beyond disgusted with this hotel. I called to inquire about reading via my kindle at the spa since we had multiple appointments booked during our stay and was hung up on by Kevin at the spa when I expressed concern with their no kindle rule. Allowing people to bring and read books but not allowing them to read on a kindle is discriminatory and not taking my disability into account. This is not being ADA compliant since I need to use a tiny, lightweight kindle to read due to neck and wrist issues. Shame on you Omni. I canceled our week stay for July and am canceling 10 days in Hilton Head this coming October because of this nonsense.

I’m from Asheville. I grew up walking through these famous halls and enjoying the fire places and gingerbread houses. I was very disappointments with this visit, however, and probably won’t be back. A LOT of hidden prices. You are charged for parking even if you stay in the hotel and don’t valet your vehicle. The spa services will cost you about 50% more in service charges and standard tipping. Additionally, I understand that the hotel wants to conserve the history of their facilities, but the hallways and rooms could really use a refresher for the prices. Our windows didn’t close, which made for a cold winter visit. The spa is beautiful but way overcrowded and also in need for some updates. Even the robes provided looked like they haven’t been upgraded in quite some time. With all this said, valet employees and elevator operators were wonderful and kind. Some of the spa employees and hotel front desk employees were rude at times. With COVID I’m sure it’s challenging to keep a smile on your face, but I was hoping for a more pleasant experience at a place with the reputation like the Grove Park Inn. I didn't feel that the value was there for the price. We won’t be staying here again.

Hi, my sister-in-law and I, and our daughters want to visit Grove Park Spa and spend a day there without staying at the Grove Park Inn. We are looking at March 1st-March 3rd.
Are there day passes on March 2nd, 2024?
Thanks for your help!

I was wondering, for a spa pass, what all is included in the pass? Is it just the hot tubs and pool area, or are massages included in this pass? I would like to get detailed information. Thanks.

Post - Covid question: Now that the resort is open again, what are the spa day prices for guests staying at the resort? are there any perks for the spa if you have Club level?

If check in isn't until 4pm, can we book an earlier spa appointment and use the spa pools and amenities anyway? Trying to make the most of a 1 night stay.
Written 2 August 2021
If we are resort guests and book a spa service (massage) on a Saturday, do we also get to use the spa amenities that day even though it’s a weekend? I read that the spa day passes are only Monday-Thursday currently.
Written 30 December 2020
Yes. You are able toaccess the spa the day of your spa services. Check in when the spa opens and you can enjoy the pools, hot tubs, lounge area’s that are co-Ed, and the gender specific areas that have steam and dry saunas, contrast pools, etc.
Written 9 February 2021
In regards to the gender specific areas are you allowed to use the facilities nude? Example can you use the sauna or pool nice within the gender specific areas only? Thank you.

Can you book a treatment at the spa without an overnight stay at the hotel?

Yes, but book early. They tend to stay very busy.
