Loved this area by the Grovewood Inn. There are really 3 small galleries here, the Antique Car museum (about 20 cars) really fun and wonderful and helped with a mixed-interest group, the display of the old factory for the Biltmore Industries, small and fun for everyone, then the Gallery which blew our minds. Extraordinary work by so many artists. We... More

The antique car museum is small and with Antique classics..not the modern cars that some call classic...youngest car there was a 55 caddy. Host was very pleasant, even with a crying baby that didn't want to be there. The other buildings house a small fabric museum and beautiful arts and craft shops. Nice place to spend a few hours( and... More

Gloria, we are glad to hear you enjoyed your visit to Grovewood. The antique car museum is always a popular attraction on our grounds. It is currently home to 18 vintage automobiles, as well as some original horse-drawn carriages and Asheville's own American LaFrance fire engine. The cars have been preserved in their mostly original and running condition. I'm happy... More

The gallery offers beautiful works of arts by artists in the region. Jewelry, glass, furniture, pottery, and many other mediums fill the rooms of the gallery. The staff is very helpful and knowledgable about the artists and the works for sale. Large price range gives the visitors lots of options from small remembrances to a special treasure. Don't miss the... More

This gallery features local artists' works and the creativity and talent are evident. Furniture is located in the upstairs - no elevators. The ladies at the counter were very friendly and helpful. Do plan to go back with my husband.

This place specializes in the finest artisan work from primarily local artists. After visiting many different galleries in Asheville, the Grovewood Gallery is without question our favorite.

It takes a little effort to get to this gallery. You enter by the Grove Park Inn driveway, go to the bottom of the drive and turn left toward the hotel. Then you turn right and down to the bottom of that hill...oh, just follow the signs at that point. ;) There's the auto museum in the former mill, the... More

Hi Laura - hopefully we were worth the effort to find! Our location has its challenges, and we are working towards getting clearer/better signage (especially for parking). Also, the restaurant next door to the gallery is still under construction but is slated to open by the end of November. The name of the restaurant will be Golden Fleece - Slow... More

This was my absolute favorite gallery during my visit to Asheville. After leaving the parking lot, you walk through a contemporary sculpture garden (loved the dog hanging out of the truck window!) We then walked through a forest of wind machine sculptures designed by Lyman Whitaker. On a windy day, the movement of kinetic wind sculptures can be hypmotizing. Moving... More

This used to be my go-to gallery in Asheville, with many artists in many mediums, both traditional and contemporary. I never visit it any more because it seems to have fewer artists and no contemporary work at all. I am not into traditional craft, so this no longer interests me. Too bad.

I own one of Lyman Whitakers' wind sculptures so it was an absolute delight to see the 'forest' of them that is here! The antique car museum was a nice surprise as well. We almost didn't see this place but I caught a glimpse of the wind sculptures from the corner window of dining room. Ask for directions and find... More

We're so happy you discovered Grovewood! I assume that you were staying at The Omni Grove Park Inn, adjacent to us. It's an easy walk, but they also offer a free shuttle service to our gallery (great for when it's raining). Hopefully you visited our sister gallery as well, Gallery of the Mountains, located in the Sammons Wing of the... More

If you are going to visit only one gallery while in Asheville, this is the one to see. Top notch quality pieces, great sculpture garden. A feast for the eyes and a shopping delight for collectors.
