A trip to Asheville from Cleveland and Toronto is not complete without a visit to Malaprop's Bookstore. Supporting independent bookstores is one of our passions. Malaprop's is one of the best we have visited and love to support. The breadth of topics with great selections is fantastic. We will be back.

Very nice selection of local and national writers in a perfect location in downtown Ashville. The café has good food and coffee and they host writers for book signings and lectures. I would love to call this my bookstore and will be back next trip to Ashville.

This sweet bookstore is a treasured Asheville icon. I love the staff, the book selection, eclectic array of cards and wonderful events they host. But it is the atmosphere created by the serendipitous blending of all these ingredients that truly feeds my soul. My love affair with the store began over 15 years ago when I would drive two hours... My husband and I were wandering around downtown while on vacation and went inside this store. I loved how many cute items they had for sale besides books. I wanted to buy more but only left with a magnet, postcard, and a stamp. Will definitely return if I'm ever in town again!

Great place to browse around. A great selection and books and friendly service. They have lots of neat non-book items as well. Even my daughter who is not much of a reader enjoyed the store.

I am a book-lover, so this was the first place I wanted to go when we got to Asheville. Malaprop's has been highly recommended to me for years, and now I know why. This is a WONDERFUL independent book store. Warm, inviting, current, and full of fabulous reads. I roamed for a couple of hours and happily purchased a few... More

This bookstore is so quaint and unique. I miss book stores like this. They had a lot of local selections , which is something I really seek out when traveling. You should stop here and get a book or two and maybe a latte.

On a recent family outing to Asheville, I made an immediate detour for this shop, as I am a huge fan of local booksellers. These folks did not disappoint! My husband and 7-year-old son found the kids' section right away and settled in to find Waldo in one of the Where's Waldo books. My tween queen b-lined to the YA... More

I love this bookstore! They have so many books, and they have a little cafe inside, too. Their displays keep it interesting, and the selection is astounding.
