Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Extremely entertaining. A must see. We went there and listened to synchronized drumming from about 60 - 70 local and visiting drummers. Local culture galore. All are invited to participate in their own way.

Crafts by day, drunks by night. My friend and I enjoyed music and sunshine one afternoon. Families and older people were there. Four hours later, the park was full of people drinking out of paper bags and picking fights with one another.

This is a really small park in the middle of a busy downtown area. There are good bars and restaurants close by. Friday night there is the drum circle which truly is something to see. But other than that there really isn't much of a reason to go here. There are a lot of homeless in the area but they don't seem to bother you too much. I felt safe.

The center of what could be a really cute and nice downtown area is this nasty little park. The fact that this area is filled with homeless, graffiti, and trash really takes away from the nice restaurants and cute boutiques surrounding the park. We did not feel safe waiting outside the restaurant for a table. Ended up backing ourselves up into a store window in order to stay away from the park and the people in the park.

What happened to downtown Asheville? Pritchard park has been trashed every time I have visited and getting worse every day. Asheville downtown needs a stronger police presence to improve quality of life.

Pritchard Park is in the middle of downtown Asheville with benches and wierd frekie folks. Panhandlers on occasion until police run them off. Cigs, grass, cigars smoked and butts on ground with empty bottles. Some days are better than others. Always be on your guard don't want to be pick pocketed or purse ripped from your shoulder. If walking be careful or get hit with vehicles.

I have always enjoyed visiting Asheville, but the trip this August has given me pause for future trips. Countless homeless addicts surround all of the green space. Two snorted drugs right off the sidewalk and at 2 pm on a Sunday afternoon.

Well the entire downtown is rather nasty. Lot of unique shops if you travel up Haywood St toward the civic center. However, the area around Pritchard park is filled with bums, grungy hipsters and an assortment of ???. Could be a beautiful little area if they would clean up. There are police that stay there all the time, sorta of scary.

It's so great that you can just walk downtown in Asheville and find hours of free entertainment people watching! And, of course, this is one of the best venues to people watch...

Dirty little park in the center of town filled with down on their luck drug addicts and vagrants. All of downtown is full of these homeless people. Sad and smelly. Used to be fun but avoid it now.
