I've rated this theater based on 3 issues. First, the moves that come to this theater are ones that might not ever come to town without their efforts. Second, this is the only theater in the downtown, and its proximity to some good restaurants -...More

This is NOT a run of the mill movie theatre. More of an art house but not exclusively. I always check their listings first before going to the regular theatres. Large screen, small house.

The Fine Arts tends to show independent movies and quality, thoughtful movies - no summer blockbusters that are just vehicles for CGI. It acknowledges its racy past during trailers; just ask any Ashevillian. Ticket prices are reasonable, as are concessions, and beer and wine are...More

I grew up with big, mega-theaters so I was a bit confused as to what this was when I moved to Asheville. After attending both a movie and a meeting of local filmmakers here, I have to say I'm charmed. Make sure you buy your...More

We recently went to this theater for the first time. It was amazing. It's huge and old and wonderful. One word of warning, the bathrooms are only accessible via stairs. Wasn't a problem for us, but after the movie we noticed some older patrons had...More

We love this theatre for ambiance, reasonable treat prices and great firm selections - we call this the "smart" theatre where you can see great films that aren't offered everywhere plus have old style theatre atmosphere. Friendly staff and I love that they off hot...More

We wanted to see the movie "Jackie" and the Fine Arts Theater was the only screen in the area showing the film. I liked this little theatre -- my husband less so. Popcorn and a Coke was reasonably priced compared with other theaters. Finding nearly...More

We love the movies they show. The theater I'd very comfortable up or down. Good pop corn and a beer. Enjoy the show!

We loved this theater...it was beautiful and very clean. The downstairs theater is completely handicap accessible; they even have a bathroom on the same level for the handicapped. We saw Hunt for the Wildlings, which was funny and touching. A great night out.

They always seem to have the best movies—little gems that the multiplex theaters skip. And the art deco feel is wonderful. Maybe the seats aren't quite as comfy, but I much prefer it.

This is our go-to movie theater. It's small, in the center of downtown Asheville, with an old-style movie marquee. The movies here are a current movies but with a lean to the more artistic or international. It's a great place for a date!

We never saw the place crowded, but on Tuesday it probably is.
