About
The Legendary Green Man has existed for centuries but it’s no myth that he’s been brewing great beer in Asheville since 1997. As home to one of North Carolina’s oldest breweries, tasting rooms and sour programs, Green Man has been producing some of the beer scene’s most iconic ales for many years. We are consistently recognized for our internationally loved traditional English styles and creative versions of the newest craft trends. Our brewers strive to bring innovative and exciting new flavors to all beer-loving folks. From Asheville’s first tasting room to one of Downtown Asheville’s largest tasting rooms, our storied growth has brought us to 2 brew houses, 3 tasting rooms, and 2 buildings. Our newest facility in Asheville’s South Slope Neighborhood is a 3 story, 22,000 sqft. packaging hall and specialty brewhouse including a “brewtique” and an indoor/outdoor taproom loft overlooking the Blue Ridge Mountains. When you visit, make sure to visit the original tasting room next door.

Green Man was a mid afternoon spot for our team. We enjoyed coming here for a late lunch and some great fall beers. We all sat at one of their large tables and ordered plenty of fries. I would recommend their Steak & Cheese fries, those were delicious. Their fall and Oktoberfest beer selection was the best in the city.

Nice place. By the main street. Up hill is the place where locals drink and a small parking lot. Two IPAs on tap. Cool stickers.

Loved their beers that we tried, and got some to bring home! The green man on the wall is really neat - have to go and see it!

Such a big difference from the old location! Great atmosphere and their classical craft brews in a large new facility. Other than the threat of snow, sitting outside was wuite enjoyable.

Good beer, great tour. One of the only tours that charges but you get a pint glass and a sticker and beer tastings along the way. It was a really excellent tour. The brewery atmosphere was great. There’s floor has patio!

We liked the place enough to visit more than once on out trip. Staff is very friendly, place is clean and orderly. There is a 3rd floor level which looks out to a part of the mountains, not a big view bit it's there. The Tart Berry is a clear winner if you like a tart fruit taste but not overpowering sweet. Trickster, west coast beers all solid IPAs and there are others to try as well. Worth the stop.

I would love to comment on the beer and atmosphere at Green Man, but I had a phone that died and needed to power it up while drinking so I could call a Lyft ride. I asked the bartender if anyone could help me out with a power supply, something I've done before without a problem, and he said "Absolutely not!" and moved on. End of story.

We visited during a rainstorm in Asheville. The third floor patio was nice to watch the rain and breathe the fresh air. Beer was solid, wish that there was more of a draft IPA selection. There are a few breweries in this area, so it’s a good place to start for a self guided brew tour.

Hey there, Thanks for your visit and the kind words. If only you visited two weeks ago we had another 2 or 3 IPAs on draft. Thanks again for visiting us and we hope to see you again!

I came here with a couple of friends in a Thursday night. It was really rainy outside so I surprised we didn't see more people. We stayed on the first floor and based on the other reviews maybe everyone was upstairs. The beers were very good, as I expected from Green Man. They also had a pretty good merchandise selection if you want a shirt or koozie. Bartenders were friendly and prices were average. Didnt see any food or food trucks so I'd say eat before you go. My.facorite was the Green Man lager. It's kind of a trek to get to the restroom but you get a neat view of the brewery from up there. Cool spot, I'll be back for sure.
