While in Boston for a few days, my family and I took a few hours to ride the CityView Hop-On, Hop-Off Trolley. They stopped at many interesting tourist sites, including the Commons, Port, and others. Both of our guides were knowledgeable and had a great sense of humor, which made the ride pleasurable. I would recommend this tour to anyone,... More

Lovely way to spend a couple of hours seeing the main attractions that Boston has to offer. Our informative driver was also a schoolteacher and was full of interesting facts. Hop on/off as you please or do the whole lot in 1.5 hours or so.

This Trolley tour lasts for approximately one and a half hours. The driver gives a running commentary of in and around the centre of Boston. Pointing out all the main attractions points of interest. you can get on and hop off at any of Trolley stops. Trolley Buses are repeating this every 20 mins. Gives you a nice bit of... More

City View tours and Old Town Trolly tours are both "hop on hop off " type buses. We did both due to poor planning. We came across City View first and bought tickets. Don't make our mistake. Old Town Trolly is much better. The buses are bigger and cleaner and appear to be more professionally operated. They have two different... More

The Cityview Trolley Tour was definitely the best part of my families experience in Boston. We all learned so much information about the city and its history. We got to tour TD Garden, which is a must see if you are a sports fan. We hit a home run with the driver we got for our tour. His name was... More

Who knew Boston was so historical? Not I, until my awesome tour guide Bart rattled off a list of stats: • oldest US big city • most colleges/universities in a city in the world (70) • oldest US restaurant (union oyster house) • oldest US hotel (Omni Parker hotel) • oldest US public park (Boston commons, also locAtion of beginning... Bostonian have a great sense of humor! The trolley city tour is a must if you are first time in the city. It is a great way to pack some must see in just one hour. And if you want to hop off and walk around at your own pace you can do so and the bus comes every 20-30mins... More

Booked through Groupon which included hop on and hop off trolley and a short harbour cruise. The trolleys aren't as frequent in the winter months as they are in the summer. Followed the map, it was a case of standing at where you think they stop. We were advised that they're unable to put signs identifying their stops throughout Boston... More

Interesting way to quickly see around old Boston, we took one of the last trips that day so just stayed on the bus the whole time. Our driver was great fun and informative.

Booked a tour for entire family of four. We were in Boston for a couple of days. It was a beautifull December 1, day, almost 60 degrees. We went to wait for the trolley at a designated hop on hop off at Fenway park. We planned entire tour around this hop on hop off trolley, we vwaited and waited, never... More

Hi Michael, we sorry to hear of your experience...our tour takes in what visitors come to Boston to see the most, historic Boston and the Freedom Trail (as shown on our tour map) areas with city designated stops for all companies to use. Other competitors appear to go to more places, and some do but with up to 10 hotel... More

Staying in Downtown

Neighbourhood Profile
Downtown
The largest area of the city, Downtown is rich with historical and iconic sites in Boston. Stroll through one of Boston’s most famous green spaces, the Boston Public Gardens, check out and make way for duckling statues, picnic under a beautiful tree overlooking the pond, and walk over the iconic footbridge where, during summer time, you will catch a swan boat toting children and eager tourists through the pond. Have your camera ready to capture its peaceful beauty in the middle of a bustling city. Continue on through the Gardens and take in some open green space at the Boston Common, where you can spend time throwing a frisbee, sitting on a park bench, or, in the winter time, skating on the frog pond. Head north from the end of the Common to see the golden dome of the State House, and travel through government center to Quincy Market and Faneuil Hall, both a historic and popular destination worth a quick visit for a first time to Boston. Head to Long Wharf to visit the Aquarium, or catch a boat to Charlestown or even Cape Cod.
