Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

En route from my hotel to a restaurant in the South End of Boston I stumbled upon Harriet Tubman Square, also known as the Harriet Tubman Park, which honors the life of former slave Harriet Tubman (circa 1822–1913), who was an American abolitionist, humanitarian, and scout and spy for the United States Army during the American Civil War. Located in the square are two monuments – the Harriet Tubman Memorial and another sculpted on the 50th anniversary of President Lincoln’s Emancipation Proclamation. This small square adds character to the neighborhood. While there is no food available at this square, there are several restaurants within a short distance. Persons interested in American history and human rights would likely find visiting this square informative and inspirational.

While walking around my hotel in this area I accidentally stumbled on this nice little square dedicated to Harriet Tubman. I'm sure this square doesn't get the foot traffic that many other places in Boston receive given it is sort of hidden. But if you are staying in this area of Boston it's worth a quick stroll through. It is also close to a couple of good local restaurants if you wanted to venture out and find.
