Great service, price in line with location

Whether you are staying in the hotel or not, this bar is often hopping inside and out. The bartenders are always great and knowledgeable.

I had lunch at Rumba on the Waterfront prior to departing Boston when I checked out of the Intercontinental. I was unsure about the timing of enjoying my lunch and making my flight the staff assured me I would have time they would hold my luggage and serve me promptly. I sat outside to enjoy the amazing weather and view... More

A bit of the pirates life in the middle of Boston. Great selection of rum drinks served with delicious potato chips and nut medley. Able to order from the sushi bar as well. It was winter weather so sitting by the fire was great but in the summer you can sit outside by the water.

We stayed at the Intercontinental for our anniversary even though we only live 25 mins away. The Rumba bar was a great "last stop" before calling a night, but we'll definitely return in the future. The comfy chairs and fireplaces make it a great place for friends to gather. They even have Vueve Clicquot by the Glass!!

Absolutely love the Intercontinental-everything about it-the location, the staff, the outside bar, RumBa bar, Miel restaurant, the rooms, the fitness center-everything! This past Sunday we had a late brunch/lunch at Miel. Started at RumBa for some champage, then went into the main dining room at Miel-had the Tuna Nicoise Salad-fabulous! Joanna (our server at Miel) was a doll-very accomodating and... More

We spent the May 3rd and 10th weekends at our Boston hotel of choice, The Intercontinental. On both Saturday nights we finished our evening at RumBa. On both nights, Marshall was our bartender. He asked what we liked to drink and made recommendations based on this information. With each drink, Marshall provided a background story to the ingredients or the... More

My family and I stayed at the Intercontinental Boston on Saturday March 1st. Every time we visit Boston we always go for drinks and food at the hotels Rumba restaurant. (I come here at least 10 times per year- I loved this place) We had an excellent experience with our hotel stay but our experience with the restaurant was very... More

Downtown on a lazy August afternoon. The RumBa on the Waterfront offered a view of Fort Point Channel, which is nice. Being a "hotel bar" the drinks are on the pricey side and a bit skimpy. They're also served in plastic barware, which is sort of disappointing - it's not like this is a pool with kid's skittering around knocking... More

Looking for an outdoor lounge oasis for an evening drink with friends in Boston? RumBa on the Waterfront at the InterContinental is your place. Invited by friends for drinks one evening, I was delightfully surprised at finding this absolute jewel of a location right on the waterfront. Walking through the high-end styled InterContinental, you are directed towards the back of... More

Had drinks and apps tonight at RumBa on the Waterfront - holy cow it was awesome!! We had a great server named Katie - she was right on top of things right from the get go. We were really full of questions and really dragged things out whereas we had not clue what we wanted! It was a first time... More

Staying in Downtown

Neighbourhood Profile
The largest area of the city, Downtown is rich with historical and iconic sites in Boston. Stroll through one of Boston’s most famous green spaces, the Boston Public Gardens, check out and make way for duckling statues, picnic under a beautiful tree overlooking the pond, and walk over the iconic footbridge where, during summer time, you will catch a swan boat toting children and eager tourists through the pond. Have your camera ready to capture its peaceful beauty in the middle of a bustling city. Continue on through the Gardens and take in some open green space at the Boston Common, where you can spend time throwing a frisbee, sitting on a park bench, or, in the winter time, skating on the frog pond. Head north from the end of the Common to see the golden dome of the State House, and travel through government center to Quincy Market and Faneuil Hall, both a historic and popular destination worth a quick visit for a first time to Boston. Head to Long Wharf to visit the Aquarium, or catch a boat to Charlestown or even Cape Cod.
