After walking the shops and bars on a rainy Saturday afternoon my husband and I ended up on the carousel. 3 times in a row. short ride but good old fashion fun.

No line to speak of on this fall afternoon. It is a beautiful merry-go-round. I think the ride was about 10 minutes. Good memories made.

What fun! Only $3 a ride and the "horses" are actually unique animals in vivid colors - I rode a purple dragon and my friend rode a cat with a fish in its mouth.

I didn't expect to see a Carousel in the middle of the Boston Common. It brought some music and color to an otherwise drab and rainy day.

Classic Carousel in a classic park. It's beautiful to see and ride. Lovely attention to detail. A must see if you have kids.

While walking through Boston we found the carousel. The kids were excited. It was $3 each, but it did go around quite a few times. The staff were friendly and the area was clean.

Short wait, probably because it was cold. Longer than I expected ride. My daughter loved it. And pictures proved it made me smile. Like a kid again. It isn't a roller coaster. But it is a fun little ride enjoyed by the young at heart.

A throw back to an earlier time - hop on your favorite animal and lose yourself in the easy joys of childhood. We all need a dose of fun and frolic.

We took our niece and nephew to the Commons to tire them out, came across the carousel and decided to ride. Only $3 to ride, and adults accompanying children are free. Ride lasts a few minutes, but well worth it after seeing the smiles on their faces. Animals are all different, zebra, rooster, dragon, horses. Great fun.

Staying in Downtown

Neighbourhood Profile
The largest area of the city, Downtown is rich with historical and iconic sites in Boston. Stroll through one of Boston’s most famous green spaces, the Boston Public Gardens, check out and make way for duckling statues, picnic under a beautiful tree overlooking the pond, and walk over the iconic footbridge where, during summer time, you will catch a swan boat toting children and eager tourists through the pond. Have your camera ready to capture its peaceful beauty in the middle of a bustling city. Continue on through the Gardens and take in some open green space at the Boston Common, where you can spend time throwing a frisbee, sitting on a park bench, or, in the winter time, skating on the frog pond. Head north from the end of the Common to see the golden dome of the State House, and travel through government center to Quincy Market and Faneuil Hall, both a historic and popular destination worth a quick visit for a first time to Boston. Head to Long Wharf to visit the Aquarium, or catch a boat to Charlestown or even Cape Cod.
