Neighbourhood: Back Bay
Wander around this quintessential neighborhood in the heart of Boston for high-end shops, restaurants, and the feeling of city bustle. Its most identifiable skyscrapers, the Prudential Center and John Hancock Tower, are highlights of the city skyline. Visit Newbury street to explore unique and trendy boutiques – as well as every other kind of store imaginable – all housed in beautiful brownstone buildings. In nice weather, restaurant patio seating is packed with Bostonians and tourists alike soaking up the sunshine and enjoying the food. Commonwealth Ave offers a beautiful stroll down residential tree-lined streets. Keep walking towards the Charles River and enjoy a beautiful view by the water. In warmer months, people run and bike on paths running along the esplanade, and sail and kayak on the Charles River. Boylston street, also full of shops, bars, and restaurants, is the finish line of the Boston Marathon. Head towards Copley Square and check out the Boston Public Library, which is particularly beautiful from the Dartmouth street entrance.

I took a private tour so I could enjoy the exquisite Tiffany-designed interior once more before moving from the city. Simone, my guide, was excellent - very knowledgeable, engaging, generous with her time, and it is clear she loves this church. They have strict safety protocols in place, which made me feel comfortable and grateful to be able to have this experience during a crazy time.

The interior of this church was redone by Tiffany and Company. It's exquisite. There's a lantern hanging above and in front of the altar that is breathtaking.
I just stumbled upon this while walking around Boston my first day there.
It's a must see and they only ask for a donation.

Lovely church, clean, the windows dont disappoint. staff are kind and share experiences and history. doesnt take more than 15-20 mins to walk round the church. Awkward opening hours, but its a church, not an attraction. free to enter, but contributions welcomed ($5). worth a visit.

The Tiffany art glass windows in the Church of the Covenant is a special find in Boston. Directly across the street from the Boston Public Gardens, just off Newbury Street, it is very easy to include in your Boston visit planning. For a nominal entry fee, you will receive an excellent tour of the church's numerous Tiffany stain glass windows, and are allowed to linger to your heart's content to sit in the literal light of their majesty. The church itself is gorgeous, ranking among the most beautiful, original churches in the city. Come visit! Your entry fee ensures these windows are preserved for posterity.

This historic and awe inspiring church on Newbury Street in Boston is worth a visit. I wandered in while the rest of our party was shopping in the very expensive shops on Newbury Street, and it was well worth the $3.00 donation at the door to see this wonderful church. You receive a pamphlet with a self-guided tour. The stained glass windows are exquisite. I was fortunate enough to be the only person in there, and I sat for a while and just absorbed the quiet and the visual feast. According to the pamphlet, the church was built 1865-1867. It's wonderful to be in such an old building and feel the history around you. Highly recommended.

I have lived and worked in Boston for many years and just recently discovered this true gem of a setting. The stained glass windows are absolutely stunning and the chandelier above the nave is a wonder to behold. The Church is set on the corner of Newbury and Berkeley streets - I walked by it so many times without once making note of the wonders within. They are a wonderful community outreach center - making use of their space to aid others in need in the area. When the sun shines thru the windows that line the church you get a sense of such peace. You can take photos for personal use and they ask for a small donation to cover costs. They also have an organ from the Welte-Tripp Company that was restored in 2001. A true gem not to be missed when walking down Newbury Street.

A stone's throw away from Boston Gardens is a gem of a church .... looks more like a cathedral to me. It's stone tower/ steeple soars high in the very heart of Boston and demands to be explored.

Although its cornerstone was laid in 1865, in the period 1894-1896 the sanctuary was completely redecorated by the Tiffany Glass & Decorating Company. That makeover was extensive, including an enormous art-glass lantern and some 42 stained-glass windows.
In its impact, it is awe inspiring.

Do yourself a favour and go look for yourself.

Visit on a sunny day and you will be treated to a church full of lovely windows that will take your breath away. Tiffany also designed the interior color scheme and decoration, now designated as a National Historic Landmark. Don't miss the angels that make up the chandelier, front and center--my favorite.
Tours are given daily in season; donations accepted. Be sure to get a free brochure that will bring the Tiffany glass to life. Or if you are lucky, you may have a docent who will show you the highlights.
If you arrive in time for the 10:30 service on Sunday and are so inclined, you can feel welcomed by the very friendly congregation, UCC & Presbyterian. The restored Welte organ opens and closes the service, a must for organ fans.

Only became aware of this church as I saw the windows as I was walking down Newberry street. The sanctuary was completely redecorated by Tiffany in 1890s - just amazing including 42 stained glass windows and a 12ft glass lantern
