Buk's is a honest dive. It cares about two things and two things only, great, great beer and pub grub made with care, and not just defrosted from the SYSCO bag. It's cash only, wedged into a parking garage, with tiny bathrooms and no air conditioning. The staff are efficient, quirky and knowledgeable about the beer. I go for the... More

Bukowski's offers up a large beer selection, tasty fried snacks with a twist (potato tots instead of French Fries) served up with plenty of sass. The bar certainly has attitude and is a welcome break from Boston sports bars. Cash only so don't for get yours dollar bills.

This bar is right next door to the hotel I always stay at. We had never been until last night. There were so many beer choices. Bartender was very friendly and helpful. Gave me samples of three different beers to help me decide. My friend and I also enjoyed yummy tater tot poutine. Will go back again soon.

What do you expect if it's called Bukowski's - I visit here every time I'm in Boston because I like the name, I like the selection of beer and I like the edge th place has. I'll be back!

We stopped in here for 1 beer. Well, we ended up having 3 beers and 2 orders of food! Such a neat place! Not for anyone who gets offended easily, which makes this place all the more likable. As we were told "if someone is offended, they can leave". I like that philosophy. Interesting menu and decor. My husband doesn't... More

We visited Boston for a long weekend. We tried Bukowki's after grabbing dinner at a nearby restaurant because we heard they have great craft beer. The beer menu was good, but the crowd took me back to my college drinking years....punk rock blaring and totally wasted early 20 year-olds everywhere. I found this place not to be the scene I... Visited Boston on my honeymoon during the freak January weather and the Bukowski was our go to bar, partially as we stayed in the Hilton 50 yards down the road. Great beer selection, if you are at all interested in your beer this is a must visit. Doesnt look like much from the outside but it is quite nice once... More

This place shows up on a couple of "best burger" lists we've seen. Perhaps they meant the Cambridge location, because our burgers here were not impressive. Both were dry, and mine came medium, not medium rare, as ordered. They were not awful, but they were on the dry and bland side. Buffalo chicken ball appetizer was good. Place is narrow... More

We stumbled in here because my husband is a fan of Charles Bukowski. We lucked out. We did not eat, but we had a few drinks. They had a good beer selection. The service was good, although we sat at the bar and there were not too many people in there. They had Father John Misty playing, which we dug... More

Staying in Back Bay

Neighbourhood Profile
Back Bay
Wander around this quintessential neighborhood in the heart of Boston for high-end shops, restaurants, and the feeling of city bustle. Its most identifiable skyscrapers, the Prudential Center and John Hancock Tower, are highlights of the city skyline. Visit Newbury street to explore unique and trendy boutiques – as well as every other kind of store imaginable – all housed in beautiful brownstone buildings. In nice weather, restaurant patio seating is packed with Bostonians and tourists alike soaking up the sunshine and enjoying the food. Commonwealth Ave offers a beautiful stroll down residential tree-lined streets. Keep walking towards the Charles River and enjoy a beautiful view by the water. In warmer months, people run and bike on paths running along the esplanade, and sail and kayak on the Charles River. Boylston street, also full of shops, bars, and restaurants, is the finish line of the Boston Marathon. Head towards Copley Square and check out the Boston Public Library, which is particularly beautiful from the Dartmouth street entrance.
