Mass bay Lines is a local, family-owned boat charter and public cruise company. For over 53 years the Spence family has provided affordable, safe and memorable cruises to visitors and local families.

We operate six vessels - five motorboats and one sail schooner.

They are available for private and public cruises. Corporate, social and NPO's have all been aboard our boats -each having the same reaction: "WOW, what a terrific way to SEA Boston!"

The schooner cruise, new and one of our most popular, can come either pirate themed or knot! The Music City Queen, a motor vessel capable of carrying almost 300 guests is the Belle of the Bay, an elegant grand dame perfect for uptown events.

the fireworks on the harbor were cancelled weeks prior. the weather was bad....rainy and cold. that said, the cruise was severely overbooked.....not enough seats or tables for everyone...for 3 hrs./ please. the food was good and plenty of it. it would have been much better had it not been crowded/ possibly overloaded

My boyfriend and two other couples and I were expecting their "NYE Celebration Party Cruise" to be what it sounded like. When we got on the boat we were horrified. Disgusting cheese platters, ugly smelly carpet, terrible lighting, tiny boat and music was being played at a whisper. If you're under the age of 50 and want to have a... More

Hello Karoline, Thank you for the feedback. Our NYE cruise is one of our most popular cruises I am so sorry to learn of your disappointment. I am wondering if you might take the time to call my office directly (617) 330.7326 so we may discuss the details. Especially troublesome is the suggestion our music was "played at a whisper"-... This was a great sunset cruise, with excellent value and even better service. The route that the boat took was directly under the landing pattern of Logan air traffic so it was amazing to feel and hear the roar of the jets as they came in. The skyline was beautiful and the length of the trip was just right a... More

It was nice seeing the city lights and skyline however, the top floor had Open Space with hardly any people and the guy working on the boat told me and my boyfriend the top floor was to capacity. We finally got up there and there was so much space I wanted to tell everyone that was crammed on the lower... More

First they changed boats at last minute (which they said they could do), it never left on time but still came back at scheduled time so basically ride was cut short by 15 min. The speakers on this boat were terrible, sat right under it and couldn't hear what was being said and told both bartender and the guy speaking... More

Awesome cruise stopped to watch the fi and low keyed cruise. The cruise stopped to watch the firing of the evening cannons from the USS Constitution and it was fun to watch the 'pirate chip' fire their cannons as well. Fantastic introduction to Boston for us.

the four adults enjoyed conversation while touring the harbor of Boston. The ride was smooth. The tour guide was easy to hear.

Staying in Downtown

Neighbourhood Profile
Downtown
The largest area of the city, Downtown is rich with historical and iconic sites in Boston. Stroll through one of Boston’s most famous green spaces, the Boston Public Gardens, check out and make way for duckling statues, picnic under a beautiful tree overlooking the pond, and walk over the iconic footbridge where, during summer time, you will catch a swan boat toting children and eager tourists through the pond. Have your camera ready to capture its peaceful beauty in the middle of a bustling city. Continue on through the Gardens and take in some open green space at the Boston Common, where you can spend time throwing a frisbee, sitting on a park bench, or, in the winter time, skating on the frog pond. Head north from the end of the Common to see the golden dome of the State House, and travel through government center to Quincy Market and Faneuil Hall, both a historic and popular destination worth a quick visit for a first time to Boston. Head to Long Wharf to visit the Aquarium, or catch a boat to Charlestown or even Cape Cod.
