Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Cool pier..... long pier! I was here a few months back and it was closed. I was happy to see it open this time so took a leisurely walk to the end. Stopped at the cafe for fries on the way back!

We were here on Saturday. Good luck finding a parking spot. We spent alot of time watching the birds and the surfers. There is a small restaurant/gift shop at the end of the pier. There are also restrooms. There are jewelry and food vendors along the beach. Great time.

ITS CLSOSED DOWN. We took a vacation because of this pier, got flights and stayed in ocean beach for two nights. When we arrived it was dark so we checked in and then went to the pier only to find it was damaged in a storm awhile back.Thier official website states they are open. $2,000.00 to stay on the beach insane. IF ONLY THEY WERE POSTED CORRECT INFORMATION

If you want to walk on a pier in the Ocean, go to Oceanside: it's clean, smells nice and it's green and blue. Compared to this Pier, built in the mid-60s as a quite ugly Municipal creation for the people: Panem et Circenses. Some surfers, some fishermen, some sea gulls, we did not see any interesting birds, no pelicans, no egrets. Pipe blowers and several street performers, united by one characteristic: lack of talent. Our destination for lunch was the Ocean Beach Pier cafe, but we found the tables so filthy we lost appetite.

Enjoyed taking a morning walk on this large concrete pier. It is the perfect spot to watch the surfers at Ocean Beach. The pier is shaped like a T and is a popular place for fishing. There is a restaurant, gift shop, and public bathrooms(not the cleanest, but not the worst.)

I thought the pier was going to be something like the one at Huntington Beach. But it's not. I expected there to be restaurants or something out on it, but it's a very plain pier. Straight out to look over the ocean which is nice. There are people all out there. You could see the surfers. And people were all around. But nothing special.

This pier has a nice, large walkway. There were nice benches and a cafe and gift shop along the way. Everyone was friendly and kind. The views back toward the beach were incredible.

Visited in early April, but there was a sign and gates saying the pier was closed. After Googling it, there was apparent damage to it and it is expected to be closed for a number of months.
The beach is still open as are a number of nearby beach-type eateries.

This is an ok pier- a bit hard to find as it is not off the main street but off a residential street to the side. And, a bit of a seedy crowd on the pier as one would expect.

Had a great afternoon killing time before a red-eye flight out of San Diego to JFK and on to Charlotte..... Sat at several local Bars and Hangouts for happy hour and enjoyed the people watching. From surfers to Hippies to homeless, this little spot had many things going on... l. Saw more VW buses than I have seen since an episode of "American Pickers".....
