A great place to visit...The Old Point Loma Lighthouse stood watch over the entrance to San Diego Bay for 36 years. At dusk on November 15, 1855, the light keeper climbed the winding stairs and lit the light for the first time. What seemed to...More

We went on a sunny day, but it was still a little overcast on this bluff. Entrance is $5 per car, unless you have the national park pass ($10 for age 62+ giving unlimited lifetime entrance to all national parks). Walkways are paved and not...More

We visited the Cabrillo National Monument in the earlier portion of the day. We got there just before the school tours and were able to enjoy the small museum, stunning views from the monument itself, as well as tour the Point Loma lighthouse in quiet...More

One-minute photo-op; plenty of people available to take that group photo of all of you by the statue, with your own camera. Nearby museum gives you basic history. Nearby lighthouse gives you another photo-op. Nearby cemetery gives you sobering reflections on the thousands of people...More

Often overlooked but worth the trip. On top of the cliffs are stunning views of ocean life that goes into the horizon - don't miss sunset and twilight on this magical ledge. (Great place for ceremonies and wedding photos.) Hike down for interesting botanics. Turn...More

This is the second time that I have been out to the monument. It is always nice to be out on the point and experience the sea breeze from the pacific ocean.

Great views of the city and the sailboats below. We got their late so we did not have enough time to walk around. Do stop at the cemetery on the way out.

If you visit this monument you will get great views of the Navy base and of San Diego bay. Worth the drive to get the views.

Yes , I think so, but recommend calling Park directly to confirm (or check their website). I didn't notice any pets while there, but wasn't really paying attention to that given the scenic beauty.
