My son wanted to come here on our mini vacation to see the dinosaur bones. I have to say we both were a bit disappointed. I paid $30 for the two of us and we were pretty much done within an hour. I think he spent more time in the gift shop than the actual exhibits. The saving grace was... More

The San Diego Natural History Museum is a nice museum; that said, I have seen other Natural History Museums that had more to offer. The two exhibits I have seen here that I have not seen at any other natural history museum are the slice of a redwood tree where you could count the rings to ascertain the tree's age... More

Took our 4 year old here. He loved it. The museum is big with a lot of variety but still not so huge as to be daunnting. Also, they are constantly running a variety of movies in 3d that are included with the price of the ticket. Lots of dinnsouars, fish, and hands on exhibits. We were in and out... More

Visiting with out of town guests, one teen, one tween, two elementary school aged kiddos, and three adults. 5/7 had an enjoyable time. I think there is a age range where Dinosaurs are just not that interesting...My favorite part was the 3D movie. Very well done, dramatic, and educational.

Just visited SD Natural History Museum to see the new Maya exhibition. If you have any interest the culture of the Maya, then this is a must see. They have done a very good job tracking their long history to the present day. Yes, the Maya still live in today's world. There are also a lot of interactive displays for... More

So much to see in this wonderful museum. We also purchased tickets to the Mayan exhibit, which was extremely interesting. Also, recommend purchasing the multi museum tickets, which allows you into many of the other museums found at Balboa Park.

This museum is a fun visit. You can really wander around in here and see many different things. I think the kids would probably like this the most because of all the dinosaurs. But there were quite a bit of interactive parts of the museum too. I actually learned quite a bit about water conservation. I really think its a... More

Just arrived in San Diego and had a bunch of things planned awoke to Thunder Storms and Lightning! Oh UH what do we do?!? We went to the Natural History Museum on July 18, apparently that day broke the record for rainfall in July LOL! We parked and ran into the Museum, entrance fee was 19$ adult and 14$ for... More

The museum is very small compared to my local museum (Denver Natural History, which doesn't even crack any best of lists), so I was a bit surprised their adult admission fee was $20. The skull exhibit was nice and the other sections with more interactive exhibits are probably good for children. Parking at Balboa Park is a total nightmare. We... More

This is a very good place to visit if you are interested in history of the world and how we all exist together. They have all kinds of exhibitions and they change them all the time. There is always something new to see
