Overview
More
The San Diego Museum of Man is your museum! Join the hundreds of thousands of people each year who come to see its exhibits on beer, monsters, torture, race, human and primate evolution, and more. You can also experience one of most important ancient Egyptian collections in the United States, which includes authentic Egyptian mummies, an exceptionally rare child sarcophagus, and one of the world's few surviving examples of Nefertiti's cartouche. Also, for the first time in 80 years, we are now offering guided tours of the California Tower - one of San Diego's most iconic landmarks. Tower tour tickets are timed like theater tickets, so be sure to purchase tickets in advance to secure your desired date and time.

This is a very interesting and beautiful small museum, in a gorgeous setting right in the park. Exhibits have social interest and value and provide levels of information that makes it appealing for all ages. Multiple exhibits offer something for everyone. The site is split...More

I am surprised that this museum doesn't rank higher on the list of places to go in San Diego. Right now (October 2017), there is a very unusual exhibit about cannibals. It sounds disturbing, but it was actually very interesting and worth the extra fee...More

The highlight of the museum is definitely the tower tour. I happened to do the 1140 and there is additional music played while up tower during that tour. Unbelievable! The views are awesome, tranquility and the exercise is good as well. Lots of nice stories...More

At $25 a person, I expected way more from this museum than what it delivered. We got the all access pass which included the museum, the cannibal exhibit, and the tower tour. Of the three, only the tower tour was worth doing. The museum itself...More

This is a smallish museum well worth a visit if you're in San Diego. There were 3 particularly good exhibits when we went: Beer, Race, and Cannibals. All were worth a visit (Cannibals required an additional fee, but it was worth it). The building itself...More

Museum of Man brings history to life. I loved the interactive beer exhibit that not only explained the history of beer, but also how to make beer, and what produced the different tastes. Around the corner was another great display of Mayan artifacts. Of course,...More

We love a museum so we decided to explore the Museum of Man. There are a variety of exhibits and rather than speed through them all, we rather spend our time exploring a few in depth. The exhibits we did enjoy included race, animals/pets, evolution...More

Hi--well good news and bad news. Museums are free to resident's on Tuesdays, but the cannibal exhibit is extra charge even on free days. Good luck!
