We used the February Museum discount and visited this building. It was a great experience and we recommend it to others. The galleries are clean and well lit and the art pieces well displayed. My ONLY suggestion is they increase the point size on the font used on the exhibit displays. It is hard to read unless you stand very... More

This do not miss museum located in Balboa Park. It has a great collection of European art as well as contemporary works. There is an excellent app that you can use on your smart phone that covers most of the exhibits both verbally and in text. Interesting outdoor sculpture garden. Museum is closed on Wednesday and open late on Friday.... More

Our team from work ended out a day full of adventures at the San Diego Museum of Art and it was magnificent! The rain coming down just added to majesty! Even though we only had about an hour inside the ambience was incredible and the artifacts and thoughtful commentary on the wall was extremely enlightening.

Even though my family is not art fans, this was an enjoyable visit. It has a lot of very old art which drew us in for a closer look.

This is not a 1st tier museum like the Metropolitan in NY. But they do have a number of masters represented. They have changing special exhibits - we saw the Kahn architectural exhibit that was very good. The place is not that big and wasn't too crowded. We were there on a cool day, but it would be a nice... More

They have a nice European permanent section 2nd floor. They have a few masters so that's fun. It's intimate enough to get done easily in one day and $15 admission. Nice that no photos allowed, so you aren't bothered with flashes.

It's place like other art museum but this month's theme -"indian version of Virgin Mary " amzed me. The permanent area has both american artists' paintings and their European counterparts. The exterior is old spanish art building. There consists of 2storeyed so I enjoyed my visit very much.

Decided on one of the hot days, 95 degrees, to stay indoors and the Art Museum was a great idea. Admission was 1/2 price the day we visited, $5. A fine collection of sculptures, 16th century and 17th century art. An fine collection of Oriental art and sculpture, Buddha's, and a collection of religious art works. Most enjoyable, interesting and... More

Planned our day to visit Balboa Park and visit the museums. It just happened to be Food Truck night and some of the museums were opened later. Enjoyed immensely.
