This was my first visit, but I felt like the whole experience had been recently reimagined and it was high quality. Probably the ideal age range is 5-18 for kids. Not great for babies or toddlers. Good presentation, though, and I learned a bit about Mormon history and their connection to San Diego. Plus, the parking and attraction is free!

The exhibit itself is pretty awesome. You are told the story of the Mormon Battalion through an interactive multimedia presentation. At the end, my kids were able to pan for gold. Very cool.

We had a guided tour which with the help of technology brings to life the story of the Mormons. It was far too long and drawn out.

We have been learning many historIc things from the 1800's, so went in to learn about the Mormon Battalion. It is a fantastic story of endurance, and the way that it is portrayed is excellent, and makes you feel part of the group going on the march. The collection of artefacts is good and the tour lasts between 30 and... More

The Mormon Battalion Historic Site was an interesting multimedia show. It explained the history of every day people in a captivating way. I think families of school age children would really enjoy every thing they have to offer.

This tour was very informative and quite well done. The technical aspect was quite advanced. The story of the Mormons who came to fight the Mexicans and stayed to help settle the City of San Diego. These people gave up a lot, leaving loved ones behind, suffering illness and death on their journey to California. Very interesting and well done.

This reminded me a bit of Disneyland rides. The 'fort' was built to look old, and the presentations were designed to be entertaining while sending a message. The message was definitely about Mormon history and faith. It was fun to hear, and would be a great stop for kids.

I have lived in San Diego for 40 years and have not visited this site before. What a delightful surprise to find this Site. My grandson, 5-yr. years old, totally enjoyed the tour too. At the end of the tour, there were photo opportunities and gold panning.

Learn of history, make new friends, and share your time with someone who loves to learn new things. I was pleasantly surprised by the tour and the atmosphere! Highly recommend for a visit. I did so at night and really enjoyed it.

Great information on the history and establishment of San Diego. Inspiring for the Mormons who would like to learn more about the hardships and sacrifices of the Mormon soldiers recruited during the Mexican War. My kids had lots of fun, I learned much, and the staff were very friendly. I even got a coupon for a free appetizer to the... More
