Pretty much a "must see" if you north of the city. Coast views from La Jolla north to Oceanside, inland views to the distant hills and mountains. And the local ecosystem is very unique. A visit that can work for many abilities as you can drive or hike to the top. The ambitious can do a roughly 2 hr hike... More

Torrey Pines Reserve is next to the famous golf course of the same name. It is beside the ocean north of La Jolla. There are a number of short hikes inside the park and they all feature spectacular views of the ocean and the rare Torrey Pines themselves. the hiking is not terribly hard but there is a significant uphill... Gorgeous landscape. Great lookouts. Good museum with helpful plant and bird guides. The trails are well marked, clear, easy but with some elevation.

Came down over thanksgiving and found it a nice and restful place to visit and walk. You pay to park and get access, but it is so peaceful and beautiful, particularly at sunset.

Visiting the San Diego area, we drove by the Torrey Pines Reserve several times and decided we needed to take a hike. We drove up to the visitors center, passing many hiking up the entrance hill. There are numerous trails in the reserve, and we decided on the beach trail, we got a great workout, the trails were cordoned off... More

We had a group with varying levels of abilities and all had a great time and enjoyed a beautiful day with gorgeous views. It was a bit crowded (day after Thanksgiving) but we all thought it was worth it

My pregnant wife and I came her on our visit to San Diego. $20 to park and to go inside, unless you want the free parking along the road down at the bottom of the cliffs. Only time we will ever be there, so it was worth it in our minds. Tips: get there early, as it gets very crowded... More

This natural resrve provides trails for hiking or even running for short, long , easy to more physical demanding loops. Walking along the trails will be provided with ecosystem knowledge, even on the beach or saltmarshland, inland lagoon creating from high tide of the ocean. In the winter, it's also easy walk with cool sea breeze. Let join me in... More

We went to this place for brunch. The price was high but the food was good and service was good. The view is nice too.

Back in the 1970s we could visit here even on weekends and sometimes virtually have the Park to ourselves. Now we strategically plan our visits to avoid the sometimes crazy crowds, which can be intense on weekends and holidays. Like many popular places it makes sense to visit early or late in the day or mid week in the winter... More
