So relaxing to sit on the cliffs, soak up some sun and listen to the waves crashing in. If you surf might be a good place to try as there were a ton to watch. I am not coordinated enough for that so I just watch!

People gather there in the evening to watch the sunset. You won't be surprised that the sunset looks the same as anywhere else at the Pacific coast. However, it outperforms the sunset at the Atlantic coast tremendously :-) Tip: the cliffs at Point Loma are even better.

Was happy to go to sunset cliffs and experience the beautiful sunset in SD. I was able to get great pics and take a a moment to just enjoy the beautiful views and nature. This is a great area in OB!

We drove to the park to watch the sunset. Beautiful views. We were lucky to get a parking space. Lots of folks were there to see the sunset. The kids enjoyed climbing on the unusual land formations.

Walking down all those steps and across all the rocks seemed like such a chore at the time. Until i passed a surfer going back that looked like he was in his 80's. The beach is beautiful once you get there. The view is breath taking and was watching the surfers.

It is the best place to watch the sunset. it is worth the visit for sure! I had a great time here. Make sure you stay until the sunset is completely finished. Parking is fairly easy to find. Bring water and some snack, you won't find places too close to buy water or snacks.

I intuitively pulled over here while planning to go to the tip of Point Loma. I sat for several minutes on a bench, unencumbered while taking views of the scenic coastline. There is parking lots off the side of the road, and a dirt path for walkers and runners as well.

Absolutely love, love, love Sunset Cliffs. Everywhere you look was a different view. We drove to the Pier and had a delightful walk and watched the surfers.

We were just south of sunset cliffs just prior to sunset so headed north to check the cliffs out. We found ample parking, which was surprising, but the parking lot we chose had a very small and mostly unmarked entrance.. If you miss it you hit the curb! The views of the cliffs and water are beautiful everywhere in this... More

At late afternoon up to sunset, the walk between the Ocean Park sector up to the park at the end of the road is so nice. Often you can make a stop on a bench or on the beach; sometimes staircases lead to remote beaches and shore access only used by the surfers. At sunset, it is a MUST in... More
