This is a must see in SD. Don't miss the Midway movie in the hanger area. The new hologram presentation is terrific. The docents are best ever!! You get up close & personal to aircraft, facilities, and history. You'll be impressed and leave with a huge sense of pride for our military.

I was not planned to visit this place, but via tripadvisor I have seen this the #1 touristic place, so I tought I need to do it, and I must say it was fantastic. Don't think I will ever get on such a ship again in my life ;-) Very impressive, can you imagine how such a boat should be... More

Right downtown. This ship has so much to see. Volunteers are wonderful. So educational. Right by visitor center. We went whale watching right after, and right next door.

My wife and I really enjoyed our time on the midway air craft carrier. We spent the whole afternoon checking out the ship from top to bottom. The vets on the ship were very informative and great to talk to. Don't miss it's a must see.

Not sure what I can add. The parts we liked was having a veteran tell you their first hand stories, climbing stairs they climbed during peace time and war, sitting in the Admirals chair, hearing recordings, seeing historic pictures, etc. Awesome, humbling, amazing, mesmerizing, piece of history. Being on the top deck with the many years of planes that you... More

Loved this place. Bought my ticket online to skip the queue and save $2. The docents are all very knowledgeable and passionate. I'm not a military person but it was a really interesting day. Be prepared for lots of stairs/ladders/step through door ways.

We visited this museum and spent 3+ hours there - it was fascinating - take the time to wait for the Island tour - it is well worth it!
