We saw sea lions and a few dolphins. Technically we didn't see whales but rather we saw the spout of water as they surface to breathe. The boat is comfortable and the captain did a great job narrating the trip and pointing out sea critters along the way. It was disappointing that we couldn't get closer to the whales due... More

We took the morning cruise to see whales on their migration south along the coast. The ship is spacious and there are good vantage points both inside and outside. The boat skipper was very successful in the whale search and we got to see a large group of whales blowing and diving. Also dolphins and seals It was a tremendous... More

Very informative, narrator had good knowledge of the area, of special interest to me was the tour along the navy facility and repair yards, quite informative and enjoyable

San Diego is a port city and a Navy town. What better way to see it by taking a harbor cruise with Hornblower? The ride is smooth (smoother than my car on the freeway!) and on a pleasant, sunny day, there's no better way to relax and sight-see from a unique vantage point and the way that sailors see the... Would definitely do this again! Service was awesome and our level wasn't overly crowded. Food was good and they had a wide variety.

Although we didn't see many whales or dolphins on our trip, the crew did their best and followed all the leads. They were very professional and personable. A nice time on the water.

We went on a multi family 2-hr cruise. My brother used groupons to cut the per person rate in about half so make sure to check that out. The cruise got a bit cold so take a jacket or go inside. It is narrated but we had trouble hearing outside. You will see several interesting navy vessels with explanation. The... More

We enjoy coming to San Diego a couple times a year. While there we always take a harbor cruise to just relax for a couple hours. The harbor cruise offers 1 or 2 hour cruises. The one hour cruise lets you tour the north side of the harbor or the south side, and the 2 hour cruise gets you both... More

We saw about 10 gray whales in a group and at one time together with a group of dolphins (white sided) and sea lions. The staff was really skilled and dedicated and sat down with us to tell us about the grey whale. The boat was comfortable and the captain handled the ship with grace. A day to remember for... More

This was the most disappointing NYE cruise experience we have ever experienced. We knew from the moment we set foot on the yacht that this would be a pitiful experience. We departed the cruise before it embarked to avoid 4 hours of the most miserable time of our lives. We now see why you have a no refund policy. I... More
