We attended the Righteous Brothers concert on 04/15. Entry was painless; bags were checked, including purses. We were then directed to our seating area. There are bars located on each floor and ushers at every door. Only issue is the lobby area, it is rather...More

It was put on the historic register list in 1974 at about the time the City condemned it. Historic preservation was further advanced by civic groups who turned the tide by sheer perseverance. It's not the most attractive building and could really do with a...More

We went to the Balboa Theatre to see and hear the " Ten Tenors " from down under. The show started started with the song " We are the Champions " and that was exactly correct. The Ten Tenors have such great harmony and are...More

The decorating and colorful detail makes this an awesome venue to catch a show. There is plenty of friendly staff, and clean bathrooms.

Enjoyed Luis Black, great show. Large theatre may sit 1,000 guest? You can order over phone to save the co-charge. We will be back.

This is one of many beautiful old buildings in San Diego and was visited for this purpose rather than see a show. Opened in 1924 and used as a vaudeville and movie theater it is now used for performing arts. Worth a visit.
