It's sad, but interesting to walk through this small cemetery and read all the plaques. Gives you a god perspective on the area and it's history and people. Go spend a few minutes, it's interesting.

Very neat place. I'm always a fan of stepping back in time. This small cemetery is nestled amongst restaurants and tourist shops and offers a glance at the life and times of some early members of San Diego. Many of the cemetery "plots" are only...More

Located in downtown Old San Diego, this is an interesting little spot to visit. There are a few historical signs to read. On the sidewalk outside of the cemetery, you'll see brass markers showing where some of the bodies that were relocated to this cemetery...More

While visiting Old Town, we were walking towards the Sheriff's Museum and came across this old cemetery. I'm not usually a fan of cemeteries but this one was interesting due to the age of it (mid 1800s) and how they used equipment in the early...More

Definitely add this to your short list of things to see in Old Town that only take a few minutes. This is perhaps one of the best points of history...mostly authentic (the wooden markers have obviously been replaced over time). It's fascinating to think that...More

After decades of neglect, old San Diego's early cemetery (or what was left of it) was preserved and later restored by volunteers and then archeologists. Ground penetrating radar was used to locate 93 graves. Church records and the few remaining headstones were used to identify...More

The family wouldn't even set foot in here. This is a tiny little cemetary in "Old Town". Its not in the main walking plaza, its actually just to the east about a 1/2 block past the Whalley house on San Diego Ave on the north...More

This is one of the oldest, if not the oldest, cemeteries in San Diego. It also has a reputation for being haunted, for all you ghost aficionados out there. It's a lot smaller than I expected, but still interesting to look at from either a...More
