We really enjoyed our day at the seashore. We were there off season (early March) so it was very peaceful and not crowded at all. The beaches are wide and well separated from the parking area. We found quite a few nice shells but had to wade out in the cool water to get the bigger ones. It's a bit... More

The Canaveral National Seashore is a beautiful and secluded stretch of beach but before you go, there is something you should know. Part of the beach is clothing optional.

This was a fun experience and a way to get a look at Florida wildlife close up. We took the 3.5 mile drive and spotted several alligators, including babies, and lots of varieties of water fowl. Several park volunteers were on hand to show us an eagles nest through telescopes they had set up.

We were there on a rainy, windy day with only a few fishermen but loved the ocean, the waves crashing, and the sandy beach. We also loved the armadillos along the road, such active, busy creatures, digging and snuffling, even rolling around. Small visitor center with a video. Some walking trails to historical spots. Very relaxed in February, probably busier... More

While it was too cold to swim during our visit, we enjoyed a quick trip to the ocean on our stay in the Merritt Island area. The beach at this time of year is uncrowded and lovely.

There are no vendors here, just raw nature. Free entrance w/ national park senior pass. Plenty of parking, view of Space center. Only negative - pit toilets. Best time to go is at low tide or late afternoon. No entrance after 6-7 PM.

Playalinda Beach is wonderful; it's all natural, and there's no convenient stores, gas stations, etc. Other than the boardwalks along the first 5 miles from Titusville, the beach is most likely just as the original Americans and first Spanish settlers would have seen it. Natural and beautiful! *Do remember, if you don't take it, you can't get it there! ...and... More

Great visit with the family. Beach was not caroused and everyone was nice. Great staff at the seashore. Didn't see any manatee but had a great visit.

My wife and I visited just a couple hours before closing time. The beach is beautiful, and seemingly untouched. We stopped at the first parking area took a couple pictures, then drove to the very end. We got on the beach, I noticed a naked guy running out of the water, I laughed to my self thinking that guy lost... More
