We got to this feature a little later in the day and there was quite a shadow over most of the rock. So recommend going earlier so you can see the full beauty. It is a great rock feature.

The last stop on the southern rim drive is the high point of the drive. Its location at the convergence of two canyons makes it the focal point of a remarkable vista.

Spider rock is a spectacular formation that has been featured in movies, in particular McKenna's Gold. The only place I could see it was from the South Rim.

It is a 5 minute walk rom the parking lot to the view, however it is slightly hilly in some areas, however if you take your time it shouldn't a problem. Re the drive, 2 hours will give you time for all of the stops. You can... More
