Even without the furniture, it is an interesting tour of a historic home. We loved the beauty of the grounds and came back a second time to experience it all again. We will be back in the future. Lovely place!

This peaceful home of the Carl Sandburg family is a must-see. The historic home is undergoing work and I was not able to visit it but I viewed some informative and insightful videos and Carl Sandburg, his work, and his family.

We did not tour the house, as during our visit to the house/farm the furnishings were not in the house so we opted to skip the house tour. There is a small parking lot and from there you must walk up hill to reach the...More

Nice place with a variety of trails you can choose from. Playing with the goats was fun and walking around the farm. Restrooms available at the bottom up the trail and up at the house. We didn't get the tour of the house so I...More

The tour was of an empty house so we gave it a pass. I guess all the furniture and artifacts are removed for some sort of restoration. We did visit the store and goat farm. Not a total loss

There is so much to do here. Tour of Carl Sanburgs home. Visit with the goats (kids love this). All levels of hiking trails, with amazing views. Or, just sit by the lake and relax.

After finding a spot in a rather small parking lot, we prepared ourselves for what was going to be a short walk. Wrong. The trail leading to the house is an uphill climb. The site does have a free shuttle, but does not advertise it...More
