This street has lots of important buildings like the Empire state building on it...We were staying on the 36th street...It has the Penn station as well..Some great Restaurants and cafes are on it..

For most Long Islanders like myself, all trips on the Long Island Railroad begin on 34th Street. Definitely a congested walk during peak times. Plenty of great shopping and restaurants. And The Empire State Building.

As a native New Yorker, I love all the boros but Manhattan, certainly has something special. And the big streets, like 42nd street and 34th are a must see. If you walk from east to west, you can get a feel for NYC and browse around the stores. You have Macy´s, the Manhattan Mall, Bryant Park, etc.
