Take the subway down to South Ferry terminal. Go out and take a picture of the Charging Bull. Walk towards Staten Ferry Terminal and queue up for the ferry going to St George's Terminal. This ferry will passby the statue of liberty. Although not closeup but quite exceptable and its FREE!

Book ahead to ensure that you are able to go up into the statue. The queues to go on the ferry are long even if you pre-book. But worth the wait - great experience!

Left from Jersey city and visited Ellis Island and the statue. $14.00 is very reasonable. I wish I had more time to spend at both places

Don't want to line up in 2 lines for a couple of hours? Just get on the FREE Staten Island Ferry that goes right by the Statue of Liberty twice! Once on the way over and on the way back. You obviously don't get to experience the Island and see the statue up close but only a little zoom on... More

Visiting the Statue of Liberty should top anyone's list of things to do in NYC. The ferry ride alone is worth the $18 dollar admission fee. ( actually it may be cheaper than that, our ticket included admission into the base of Lady Liberty). The security line is a bit long but it's worth it. You also get to your... More

Our first time to NYC and we thought we have to go to see the Statue of Liberty, it is probably one of the worlds most famous attractions! We booked our tickets well in advance, which included the ferry crossing to Liberty Island, Access to the Pedestal of the statue, and ferry to Ellis Island, then back to Manhattan. We... More

Obviously, the Statue of Liberty is a major icon that you don't want to miss if you are visiting New York. However, if you want to see the statue up close, and/or climb up to the crown, you need to reserve tickets online in advance from the National Park Service. (They have a limited number of same-day tickets for sale... More

The water taxi tour was a great way to see Lady Liberty and other sites around the island without having to worry about getting on a wrong bus or hailing a taxi/Uber. You get great unobstructed photos and the driver ensures that everyone has their photos before moving on.
