Very crowded, took a long time to get through but worth the patience & time. The tree was from my area so it meant more to me because of it. The light show was stunningly delightful. The decorations, skating rink & the people made this one of this years Christmas miracles for me.

The best but most crowded time of year to come is around Christmas and New Years because of all the people taking pics in front of the tree and the ice skating but it's a great place to stop for a moment and take in!

I love the view at night, the light and the charismas tree stole my heard. During the day ice skating is a fun activity and is not expensive.

Rockefeller Center has it all -- entertainment (Today Show), shopping (my favorite is Anthropologie), holiday decorations and ice skating in December, tours (Radio City Music Hall or Top of the Rock) and you can catch a hop on/hop off bus if you want to take in more of the city with a guide.

We saw Rockefeller Center both at night and during the day. It's definitely a busy area, but there are lots of options there (food, shopping, etc). Learned the hard way that they shut the lights to the Christmas tree off just before midnight, which was disappointing. Still a neat area, though.

We visited with the family during the Christmas season. It's a great free place to go see. There is a lot to see. You have the whole building and its architecture as well as shopping and restaurants. There is a great tour that will provide you with the history of the building. There is a fee for that. Was great... More

You see it on TV, you have to see it in person. It is wonderful. I have been there all different times of the year. It is safe, easy to walk around with lots to take in.

This is a must see when in NYC. Unfortunately, everyone agrees. It was very crowded but also fun and exciting.

Beautiful with the tree and all the lights - just simply beautiful and a must see at christmas! I watch the lighting of the tree on TV every year and actually go to see the tree every once in a while - it's been beautiful since I was a little girl visiting NYC

Staying in Midtown

Neighbourhood Profile
Midtown
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit—spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's heaven where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit the Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.
