The animated store windows at Saks 5th Avenue for Christmas are a great tourist attraction. The outside decorations of the store fronts along the street are also beautiful. Children and adults alike enjoyed this stop.

Go just to see the window displays, Christmas lights and light shows. Especially beautiful at night.

A very nice walk, to catch a bit of the shopping and stores in NYC. The windows in stores are specially nice near holidays such as Thanksgiving.

I am not a big shopper and most of what I buy now is online but there is something magical about shopping on Fifth Ave. Viewing all the stores decorated for Christmas and all the display windows made it a special experience...almost magical.

Lord & Taylor on 38th Street is famous for its Christmas windows and did not disappoint this year. The theme was Enchanted Forest and had lots of animated animals and decorations.

The Christmas lights and people are a bit chaotic, but it is still lovely to see. Make time and be ready for A lot of people

Hours of fun walking up and down fifth avenue... Its further than you think so make sure you have comfortable shoes!! One thing I would point out is there arent actually that many eateries or coffee shops along the avenue other than starbucks, not a huge deal, however as we travelled with a three year old who needed regular toilet... Staying in Midtown

Neighbourhood Profile
Midtown
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit—spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's heaven where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit the Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.
