Go at night

I've been here during the day, but going at might was much cooler. The lights look great, the atmosphere is different. Walk around and enjoy the place.

Times Square is amazing and every time I have been to New York I try to stay as close as possible as there is so much to see. There is a huge amount of shops and places to visit. Close to the broadway shows and a walk or quick subway to the major attractions. Whether it is seen during the... More

While Times Square is an improvement over its darkest days, its still kitsch. Cheap souvenirs, expensive meals, crowds, neon, and bad photo ops. It's impossible to get in and out quickly by taxi. So why very good? Because it's Times Square. And as overcrowded and overrated as it is, it's still an icon worth a visit. Enjoy.

A great place to sit with a coffee and bun whilst planning what to do next and watching the world go by. If you don't like being in a crowd, this is not the place for you! Easy to access via the Subway. Plenty of people watching if you can take your eyes off the lights, news reels and advertising.... More

Time Square is one of the most touristy places you can go in the world. It has everything. Food, entertainment, shopping, crazy lights, cartoon characters, topless women (in the summer), places to sit and watch people, Hot Tiks booth, street vendors selling bootleg purses, a police station and the list goes on. Mind your personal items as there are pickpockets.... More

Times Square is certainly an attraction unlike most anywhere else. Depending on your personal leanings to "things of the world", however, you may want to adjust how long of a time you spend there, and what time of the year you're there. The lights, sounds, and excitement of New York City are certainly encapsulated here. Most Broadway theaters are close... More

Just so awesome to be in Times Square, like Piccadilly Circus in London, one of those places that you just have to visit. Times Square NYC is a definitely a ‘must see’ destination if you are in Manhattan New York. Try the Hard Rock Café in Times Square great vibe.

Staying in Midtown

Neighbourhood Profile
Midtown
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit—spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's heaven where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit the Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.
