    Submerge yourself in touristVille
Loved it, last visit was 25 years ago and i still love it today. Electric, bright lights, viby, alive, great shopping nearby, sooo touristy but i love all of that. Was warned that those characters will try sell you photos with them but we were definitely not harassed in any way. For Me, pure freedom and great pix

    NYC at its Finest
Our trip here as a family will forever be a treasured memory. We saw so many wonderful places and were amazed at the quality of all the employees, the kindness they showed, their impeccable work ethic, and the cleanliness of the city. It was a great adventure.

Any trip to NYC requires a stop at Times Square
It's truly remarkable, easy to get around. Fantastic restaurants, lots of friendly people. Great souvenir shops for shot glasses and t-shirts. I've been to Times Square three times and have loved them all.

    You have to see it!
I feel like Times Square is something that everyone needs to see at least once. I took my college-aged daughter for a NYC trip and we went once during the day and once at night after a show. Practice your resting bi!tchy face and ignore everyone wanting money. I agree with other reviewers about legalized pot as well. It stinks everywhere. I really don't care if someone chooses to do it but I don't want to smell it at every turn. It is pretty disgusting and almost as bad as cigarette smoke.

    Times Square is thriving again
It’s great to see the area thriving again. Although this was a business trip, I was still able to get out to a few restaurants and enjoy what Times Square has to offer. The only drawback to the experience is there seemed to be quite a bit of open drug use along the streets.

    Visit at least once
I think it’s a place to visit once in a lifetime. It’s overwhelming for a person from the county. There are a lot of people and you have to be careful not to take pictures with the “characters”. I heard they will charge outrageous prices for the picture on your phone. There are billboards playing advertisements on many buildings.

    Dazzling
First trip to NYC. Times Square is full of life and vibrant day or night. Party atmosphere at night. There are people selling stuff and others dressed up as characters where they tempt you to pay for photos with them. Easy to brush them off and a firm but polite No thanks works. A must see.

    Exciting
Being here in person was incredible. Having watched New Year's Eve programs several times; things look somewhat familiar, but the excitement has to be experienced first hand. All the various people and activity makes for a great adventure. Many people were decorated in costumes for photo ops.

Unique in US - recommend visit both during the day and at night
Absolutely visit - this is one of the most unique places in the US - indeed in the world. Especially recommend visit at night when lighting is incredible. . If possible, visit both during the day and at night. Square is named for the New York Times, which has its hq on 43rd Street, 1/2 block from the square.

We had both been to New York as kids, and now on our layover heading home, we decided to stay a couple of days here. Honey, let me tell you, the memories of Times Square, the lights, and the electrifying ambiance were just as fabulous as we remembered. We made a promise to come back when we have little ones and help them create their own memories of this iconic place. Can you imagine the look on their faces? Priceless, I tell ya!

Having visited from London in 2003 & 05 I was keen to see it again in 2024, but it wasn’t the same. The touts constantly hassling you for this tour or that show, the dressed up characters waving ‘give me a tip’ signs in your face, really spoilt it for me. And the stench of weed now it’s been legalised really was horrible. Obviously it looks fun and exciting with its big bright light’s & atmosphere but over all not a highlight for me, just passed through quickly to get to our destinations.

Naturally a must visit when you’re in the city and worth going both during the day and also at night to admire the lights. It’s always busy and there’s plenty of entertainers trying to get money from you, but the buzzing atmosphere makes it easier to put up with and no one comes across too pushy. A landmark area in the city but it certainly does come across very touristy!

it's like stepping into a real-life kaleidoscope. Bright lights, big crowds, and a buzzing energy that's hard to describe. It's the heart of NYC, where everything seems to happen at once. Just soak it in and enjoy the vibrant chaos.

We visited in January when it was freezing so it wasn't too busy but it seems to have changed quite a bit since we last visited in 2017/2018. It is more pedestrianised so more space to wander around and the billboards have got bigger and some are now 3D. It is just a crazy place to see but has to be done! Still some great shops too.

unpleasant and frustrating New Year's Eve 2023/2024 experience

Enchanted by the lights and atmosphere of Times Square in New York, I decided to have this experience on New Year's Eve 23/24.

Unaware, I tried to get to the place around 6:00 pm, however, about two or more blocks before, the police strictly cordoned off the place and advised us to enter from the “other side”.

However, isolation invades the other gigantic blocks and at the end, you realize that the entire area was completely isolated. Incessantly, a crowd of tourists and locals coming from everywhere begins to gather in the surroundings.

The isolation reaches a kilometer radius, throwing the crowd onto the sidewalks. Not knowing what to do, people wandering around in the crowd packed from one side to the other, not knowing what to do.

In other words, a crowd of tourists mixed with local residents are thrown to the margins of the central region, a pile of people in distant streets.

On their own, the crowd counts down when they assume midnight is approaching, they practically point their cell phones at the sky, and no fireworks are heard. There was no clear sky, no smoke from fireworks. There was no light reflected in the sky, absolutely nothing. The sky is practically clear, and a deafening silence invades the place. The entire renegade crowd then leaves frustrated and disappointed.

In short, New Year's Eve in Times Square is restricted only to those who managed to enter the place before the police cordoned it off.

On the outskirts, the crowd of uninformed tourists and New Yorkers are completely excluded from the New Year's Eve party. Do not go.
