Let’s start with an important reality: touring Africa on your own isn’t easy. There are multiple layers of planning and coordinating before you go. And once you’re there, you are at the mercy of whomever you’ve hired for your game drive(s). We’ve travelled a lot,...More

Micato was there for us the entire time. They actually coordinated our trip along with the Four Season on the Serengeti. They had staff at the airport in Kilimanjaro, and flew with us to the Serengeti airport, where we were met by a dozen drivers...More

I really don’t know. They are a very reputable safari company that’s been on best of safari lists for a very long time.

Hello. I have never been to Africa and the more I research the more I can't decide where I want to go. I have around 17 days. I will be traveling with a relative who only intends to goto the continent once and would like a variety of sights and animals. If I knew we were going twice I could easily pick two different trips but I am constricted by knowing I have 17 days and cannot see everything and cannot go everywhere. Here is where I would like to go. Please advise which you would leave off if there is only one trip. For instance, my main purpose of going to Ambroseli is to photograph animals in front of a mountain but is it worth it to go there if that is my sole purpose. Ambroseli to see Mt. Kilimanjaro in the background of photos but some people have said Lake Manyara is better Ngorongoro crater Serengeti to see the migration (I will be going in either August or September depending on when the migration might be) Maasai Mara to see the migration Victoria Falls (however, what else do people do there once they have seen the falls? We will not be bungy jumping) Cape Town to see the penguins, table mountain and the water front Kruger (but will I see the same animals as in Kenya/Tanzania? Do people prefer Kruger or Kenya/Tanzania?) I really want to see the migration unless people think it is overrated The Oskavango Delta (how often do people see animals in this region? I added it to the list because I would like some shots of animals in the water) Chobe for elephants (people have commented that the elephants are most impressive here but is it worth going here just for the elephants)

Choice number one. The crater. Mt kilaminjaro the Serengeti and the migration. And you have a homerun. The south is nice but really they are two separate trips. Cape Town. Jo Berg. Soweto. And Kruger. And for another... More
