It's difficult to be overly effusive about this Manhattan bridge when it comes within sight of Brooklyn Bridge and it's obvious magnificense BUT it is a working bridge with a degree of prettiness though it can be taken as being perhaps a bit gawdy. Certainly not as perceptually imposing as other bridges but takes a good picture on a nice... More

Great views of Brooklyn Bridge and Manhattan. If walking across the bridge the noise can be extremely loud with the subway likely to be passing by next to you. Iconic bridge crossing the East River in New York City, connecting Lower Manhattan.

This bridge is always amazing to cross as you're admiring the view on one side and passing subway cars on the other. Fun, easy and free path to get between Manhattan and Brooklyn.

...and running...and running...over this bridge. As part of the TCS NYC Marathon, I had the chance to run across this iconic bridge; it was an experience of a lifetime. :)

Saw on three visits to NY. Once while on a harbour cruise. The other while walking the Brooklyn bridge in July 2009. Last in May 2010. Very nice looking bridge along with George Washington bridge, and Brooklyn bridge. All are over the Hudson River and have the same cable style.

Best View of the Brooklyn Bridge and Manhattan. Take great photos of the Brooklyn Bridge with Manhattan behind it. Walking across the Manhattan Bridge will include the subway passing by right next to you so it will be loud. If you start on the Brooklyn side the pedestrian entrance can be difficult to find. On the Manhattan side you must... More

Taking a walk on the Manhattan Bridge is a treat. It's a great walk, with beautiful views of NYC, and the Brooklyn Bridge. If you start out in Manhattan, you enter the bridge by Chinatown. It's close to a mile walk. And once you reach the other side, you can have a nice meal in one of the restaurants in... More

The Manhattan Bridge is much less famous and popular than the Brooklyn Bridge to the south, but has many fascinating details, not least of which it can now be crossed on foot. Robert Moses removed Miss Brooklyn and Miss Manhattan from the Brooklyn approaches, and the originals are still on display at the Brooklyn Museum. But two replicas now appear... More
