I have been wanting to visit this place forever and finally got there. We were there for the Star Trek Academy Experience as part of the ST 50th Anniversary celebration. The exhibit was impressive, but so was the USS Intrepid. I love ships and go to every historic ship museum. This was very impressive and fun for the entire family.... More

My husband is a pilot and he really enjoyed our visit. I found the exhibits to be well organized and informative. The Concorde tour was excellent and Kevin did an excellent job.

We had a great time visiting the Intrepid today. One tip is to book a tour before the Intrepid opens. We were here on a Sunday, and we bought the Concorde tour at 9 AM. We were the only two people on the tour! Our tour guide Ron was extremely knowledgeable and shared all kinds of interesting information with us.... More

We had a great few hours at the USS Intrepid. We purchased our tickets via the NY city pass and were not disappointed with this attraction. Firstly there is a Submarine called the USS Growler where you walk through and see how cramped it is. There is also a submariner who gives you a really interesting talk whilst in the... More

There are various optional extras when visiting the Intrepid Museum. These include the US submarine Growler, the Space Shuttle exhibit and a tour of Concorde. We opted to include the Growler and the Space Shuttle and found the Growler to be particularly interesting. In fact, the Growler was the first exhibit that we visited and my grandson (7 yrs) enjoyed... More

Updated in recent times - another established attraction on Manhattan. Well worth a visit if you have a military interest of any sort otherwise maybe only worth visiting if you've exhausted your 'must sees'. It's easy to find and located around the Midtown area conveniently located too.

Enjoy our visit even though weather was bad. Went through submarine Growler first & was amazed by the confines of this vessel. Went onto the Intrepid & spent about 2 hours looking around & reading the history of this ship & her crew. Not too crowded & plenty to see.

This historic and battle-hardened aircraft carrier has been partially renovated and brought into an inter-active educational experience for young and old.

It really is quite simple - this is a museum on an aircraft carrier, with planes, helicopters and a space shuttle. If the idea of that does it for you then you'll be as overjoyed by the experience as I was. You get to tour the key working decks (with more being restored as time goes on) of a ship... More

Staying in Midtown

Neighbourhood Profile
Midtown
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit—spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's heaven where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit the Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.
