We visited the museum on a very sunnyday where we really Got the feeling of being on a Hangership in a warzone. Every airplan on display was epic in it’s own way. From stealthfighter to Spaceshutle. The kids were amazed and so was I A...More

Super interesting museum, not only for fans of Navy and their airplanes. Very impressive is the SR71 "Blackbird" and the space shuttle. The conversations with the veterans were also fascinating. We'll be happy to do it again.

We arrived shortly before noon and there were long lines. I recommend arriving when the exhibit opens to cut down on the crowds. The submarine Growler has been restored and was great. Before entering you go through an exhibit with displays about it. You enter...More

We went early, short lines and were able to move through quickly. Great history, we were mostly interested in the aircraft. It’s quite tight going through the upper deck/ bridge of the Intrepid-avoid crowded times if you do not like closed spaces.

This is an incredible attraction hidden away on the lower west side. The aircraft carrier herself would be enough to warrant a visit, but then add in the many, many historic planes on her deck, plus an SR-71 and the incomparable supersonic Concorde, and you...More

The opportunity to explore a former aircraft carrier and see a space shuttle, Concorde and a submarine up close ensure that this is a worthwhile visit. However the whole museum also felt like one bug missed opportunity. There was very little thought given to designing...More

I wanted to go see a Concorde. The tour allowed you to actually sit in it. The guide had great information and it was well worth the extra fee The museum has an SR-71, the Enterprise space shuttle and so much more. I didn’t have...More

Didn't know this was even an option. Decided to skip other more "traditional" tourist spaces and was pleased. Spent a good bit of time there but didn't make it to the submarine portion. Great exhibits for air and sea fans.

We saw this several years ago before her dry-dock/update. It continues to be a great stop for adults, war-buffs or kids. Very interesting to see a real aircraft carrier, retired planes/helicopters and read the history. Our kids found the newer kids area interesting too –...More

Jonathan- You're going to love the Intrepid. One pier away to the south is Pier 84 at Hudson River Park. Lots of seating and even some green space. Primarily benches as opposed to "spread out my blanket" type of grass... More
