A ship jammed packed with history, I would thoroughly recommend the guided tour, beats reading thousands of information cards. On top of that you’ve got the Space Shuttle and Concorde Experience, what’s not to like!

Very impressive museum. The Intrepid was an important carrier through three wars and also served as a recovery vehicle for manned space flights. All these events are covered, as well as how the ship was maintained and upgraded over the years. There is a very...More

They do offer free admission for U.S. military personnel and veterans. I neglected to mention that. There is also a reduced price for children under 12, and free admission for children under 4.

Many levels (flight deck, hanger level, space shuttle) are accessible by elevator, though not all of the superstructure. The Growler submarine will not be. It's still worth a visit.
