Got on the ferry by accident but it was a nice ride, but at least it was free. We enjoy the downtime while we waited to get to the other side.

The ferry is completely free and you will have a great view of the statue of liberty and NYC - if you are on a budget do this instead of one of the tours.

Decided to park in Staten Island and take the ferry on our trip to NYC this year. Normally we park in Newark and take the train in but wanted a change. Trip was enjoyable, it was freezing but we got a good spot outside while passing the Statue of Liberty which was nice. Biggest draw back is we missed a... More

Take the ferry for great views of the city and harbor. Ride to Staten Island and back. Best views late afternoon or sunset.

When I am showing folks around NYC I always fit in a scenic boat ride on the Staten Island Ferry. It provides fantastic views of The Statue of Liberty and the skyline. It runs very frequently. It is easy to find and the best part is that it is FREE!!!

The Staten Island Ferry goes from South Ferry to Staten Island. It is a ferry lots of people use to get to work. It a hard working ferry, with gorgeous views, smell of the ocean and views of the harbor.

Doesn't get right up close to the statue but close enough for you to say you've seen it. If you want a selfie next to it you have to do the tour which costs extra money. This is free, it takes 25 mins and offers some great views of not only the statue but lower manhattan and the world trade... More
