Located on the East side of Central Park, this fun statue of the Alice in wonderland characters is at larger than life scale. It is well worth seeking out for a picture and when we visited was pretty quiet.
Beautifully done sculpture for children to climb on or adults to reflect on childish memories. You may have to wait to get a pic without people around, but going earlier in the morning would help. There are benches all around to sit, relax, and people...More
I took my niece to Central Park last year via 79th Street. On our way down 5th Ave, we noticed this statue. My niece liked the statue, but for older adults, it's not really suitable except for a few snapshots. By myself, I would not...More

With regard to bus transport, it helps to know that the M1, M2, M3 & M4 buses head Downtown along 5th Avenue. The same buses head back Uptown along Madison Avenue, so again, which buses you might use will depend on where you are staying. Also bear in mind that if you use buses, you must have the right fare in hand when you board, since I believe drivers do not dispense change. Of course, if you have an MTA card, that can be used on buses as well as the subway system.
