Very unique subway and/or walking experiences available as part of a guided public tour or guided private tour that is different from most standard guided food tours. We also offer self-guided On Your Own Experiences which are food walk-throughs of various New York neighborhoods and are designed to help save you money over eating in tourist restaurants. Our self-guided On Your Own Experiences can be used as a tour, a list or as a tour first to sample and you can return to your favorites for full meals. Each Experience also includes some low cost breakfast options near major tourist attractions. Our guided tours are true eating tours, not sampling tours and we also offer restaurant recommendations (as noted in many reviews) on our guided tours to help you eat well and save money for the rest of your trip. You choose what you eat and how much. You'll see non-tourist neighborhoods in a relaxed manner and while on the guided tours you will be mingling with others from around the world in a larger group format that is much like a field trip. For those who do want to experience great restaurants and save money we offer our Customized Restaurant Concierge Service. This is a personal service available through by contacting us directly that helps you save and eat great based on your lodging location, attractions you are seeing, food preferences and budget. To experience a culture one must experience their cuisine and since New York is the world's melting pot its many cuisines is its shared culture. Food On Foot Tours takes visitors beyond the tourist attractions to the largest buffet in the world, New York. You'll see the neighborhoods where New Yorkers live and eat. You'll share our passion for all things New York and travel the way New Yorkers do, by subway and foot.

Had a great time on this tour! There are lots of rules at the beginning which put me off at first but don't be deterred! Corey has fantastic local knowledge and only wants everyone to have a great time and eat great food. We went to 5 great places that I never would have found without this tour. I particularly... I had a great experience with Corey. A lot of instructions were given but none too complicated. We had a great walk and enjoyed some great places. I loved all of them. My friend whom I was partnered with and I bought full portions of pizza and shared some dumplings. I also enjoyed the other places. The only one I... More

Winter in NYC... my daughter & I were enjoying our time in the city & this tour was a highlight. A NY slice (yum), a trip on the Metro, traditional Mexican taco (yum), chatting with other tourists, an excellent meatball sub (yum).... a terrific way to spend a few hours in parts of this city we hadn't explored to that... On our last full day in New York we met our guide Corey and a large group of like minded individuals keen on experiencing this tour. The detailed description of what to expect and instructions for tour on booking were great! We as a family (2 young teens) all have large appetites, so we were a little disappointed when Corey... Had a great time on this winter tour. The food stops were delicious and from places I never would have seen. Corey was able to provide the odd fact about the places without turning it into a fact based tour. Corey was engaging from beginning and encouraged everyone in the group to actively participate - without having to step out... More

As foodies, my partner and I were particularly looking forward to this experience and it did not disappoint in the slightest. Corey was a particularly lovely tour guide. He made everyone feel welcome and was encouraging and enthusiastic from start to finish. The little food establishments he took us to were excellent and they are so inconspicuous that I know... I agree with other reviewers that the booking and instruction-process is a little overwhelming, but it is well worth the perseverance. Corey is thorough and well-informed and a passionate New York foodie. Doing this tour on day one of our trip set us up for an excellent holiday. Our nine and ten year old daughters joined us and had a... More

Thanks for the wonderful review. We love that we could set you up for a great experience for your whole trip and that the kids had a great time too. The direct booking process on our website is simple and easy but yours was a little more complicated because you bought your tickets through a vendor program with different requirements.... More

Staying in Midtown

Neighbourhood Profile
Midtown
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit—spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's heaven where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit the Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.
