Born and raised in New Jersey, its crazy to think I have not seen some of NYC iconic sights but going on this photo safari gave me everything I had hoped to get out of this tour and more. Our guide, Zim, did an amazing job. There were five of us with her and she was extremely adept at working with each of us, all with varying skill and knowledge levels. She was very knowledgeable about the different gear in use and used a blend of coaching, training and guiding us through how to better utilize each camera.

Great experience seeing some of the iconic sights of NYC-Grand Central Terminal; The Empire State Building; Rockefeller Center; Central Park; Times Square; etc. in a small group photo experience with an instructor who knows her stuff! Zim, our instructor, knew the ins and outs of each site, each of our cameras, and taught us new ways of seeing and thinking... More

I just think this is one of the most perfect, if not THE most perfect ways to spend a morning or afternoon in NYC. Whether you are an artist, photography nerd, or just want tips on taking better pictures, what better way to see the city than with a native guide who teaches you so many different ways to visualize... I went on the Iconic NY course (P1 and P2) just to take some beautiful pictures of New York. This course is fantastic, Zim the instructor is very witty and very knowledgeable about cameras and she has the patience of a saint! These courses are more than taking photo's, Zim gets you to think outside the square to take great... More

My friend and I took Iconic New York Parts 1 and 2 back to back this weekend. Our instructor was Zim and she was wonderful. Our day started with snow showers and ended with 4 to 6 inches of snow on the ground (when they say rain or shine - they mean it - and we got everything in despite... More

My wife and I went on the New York Photo Safari with Zin as our guide. I love photography but wanted to take it to the next level. Zin was absolutely brilliant. Her emphasis was what we all want - how to take a great photo! She achieved this aim in spades. Apart from visiting a number of New York's... More

Came back to NYC and did another photo safari with Zim. Did the Brooklyn Bridge safari and really enjoyed learning more about photography and am looking forward to doing the World Trade Center safari at some point. Can't recommend a photo safari with NYCPS enough. Really talented instructors, very good way to see NYC and become a better photographer for... More

Staying in Midtown

Neighbourhood Profile
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit—spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's heaven where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit the Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.
