This bar is situated in the back of grand central train station which is amazing in itself and is a must see...the bar was advised by many to me to have a cocktail. ...so we went along last night and on entering the establishment we found it to have a good atmosphere and a 1930/40's feel... Intialially we were lead... More

Excellent find and would never have found if it wasn't recommended. Great place to have a nice drink and cool off from the hustle and bustle of New York I do not want to say anymore as it would spoilt a pleasant surprise

We went here on the recommendation of the Internet, and family that live in NYC. It was a great place with not very much seating. I wasn't used to it, but if you spy a seat, you can't just take it - probably food related, but it doesn't look anything like a restaurant. Didn't bother us, though, since we were... More

You have to know that it's there otherwise you'd never just stroll past it and go in on the off chance. What a find, a very pleasant way to spend an evening drinking fabulous cocktails whilst listening to the jazz band. Loved it, so glad a friend recommended it.

Campbell Apartment is on the Balcony level of Grand Central Station, tucked at the back near Vanderbilt St. It's a special place....wood panelling, ornate ceiling, lovely windows. Cocktails are $16 but probably the best we had, strong and a good choice. The barman are real pros and interesting to watch. Ideal place for pre dinner drinks.

This is the place to go if you are interested in taking in a bit of history and ambiance with your Cosmopolitan. They also have a good cheese plate if you find yourself getting a bit peckish.

This is a beautiful space tucked away in the Grand Central Station of New York City. John W Campbell the millionaire financier used it as his office in the early to mid nineties. It has beautiful wooden beams and exudes an old world charm, until recently where it has became a high end wateringbhole for the discerning crowd. It is... More

After asking for some advice on the cocktail menu it became clear the hostess lacked any detailed knowledge of the cocktails on offer. The cocktail itself was lovely, but expensive at 16 dollars a drink. Not the experience I was expecting. Disappointed on the whole.

One of the best bars I´v ever been into. Ellegant, high end, sophisticated with nice atmosphere. Actually I dont want to recommend this place because I want to keep it for my self. Very good drinks and deacent service from the bartenders. If you look at the waitresses you think you are in paradise. They are stunning. The room is... More

Lovely, hidden, old-world bar in grand central. We had specialty cocktails and an appetizer. All good. Fun how wait staff wears black and pearls: really keeps with the vibe. A special place, and you feel sort of in the know going there. A neat way to kill an hour in NYC.

Staying in Midtown

Neighbourhood Profile
Midtown
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit—spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's heaven where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit the Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.
