Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

If you are staying in or around Union Square, this is a great market to experience! There are several vendors selling a variety of foods, from pastries, eggs, meat, vegetables, and more specialty items, such as honey. The quality of the stuff there is very good, although some of the prices are on the high side. I have been visiting this market off and on for a while, and I have really enjoyed it...

This place has so many wonderful, helpful vendors. Everything from baked goods, produce, meats, liquor, and jewelry. I wish I had time to shop. Come hungry! It's worth the trip!

This is a great maker to stroll around. Whether it is moonshine, meat or fresh vegetables you can find it all here. The vegetables are amazing and look very fresh. If I only had a stove in my hotel I might partake.

This a great farmers market in Union Square with lots of food to choose from, anything from pretzels to jellies and so much more..

My wife and I went to have pizza at Joe's, but we found the Union Square Greenmarket. It was very cool in the neighborhood square. There were a lot of homemade items and homegrown food there. There were a lot of people in the square, and they were hanging out listening to music and having a good time.

I want to shop here i really do but its just so over complicated. Everything is Artisan or Gluten Free or just weird. I just want some nice fruits and veggies and a pie or pastry maybe but this is a place for people trying to find something specific. I wanted to get something for the kids while they play at the playground to snack on but nothing was good.

Walking through the market is so much fun. There are many different local farms selling bread, cheeses, homemade jams, fruits, vegetables and meats. You won't be disappointed but you may find some markets are expensive. I bought fresh field tomatoes that were basically $2.50 per tomato. But when I got home and ate them, I will tell you that they were heavenly!

This market is great if you're looking for fresh produce as most of the sellers offer it. It's also good to grab a fresh juice and walk around the park nearby.

I walk through the market every day, so I'm a litle spoiled, but it really is worth a trip if you're from out of town. Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays and weekends. Get a Martin's pretzel - they're the best pretzels I've ever had and the guys at the stand are funny and friendly. All the vendors are knowledgeable and there's always some fun cooking demonstration or wine tasting going on. Definitely worth the detour if you're in Manhattan.

A must visit when visiting New York in December. Great vendor booths with a variety of candle makers, clothing and artwork. Plan to spend a couple hours roaming the booths, you will definitely get in the holiday spirit. Perogies and hot chocolate with a truffle are highly recommended.

Is the farmers market open every day? If not, when is it open.
Written 2 August 2018
The farmers market is open 4-days per week! Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Saturday. If you go Saturday, go early! It opens at 8am and if you arrive by 9/9:30 you may see some of the biggest NYC chef's shopping in the market.
Written 25 August 2018
Yes, it should be open on that date.

Hi
Does anybody know if the market would be open on Monday 2nd January 2017?
Thank you
Written 3 October 2016
I'm not sure they are usually open on Monday's. I would second the other reply and say that all the stalls probably won't be there. Do yourself a favor and buy some of the maple fudge. It's pure heaven. The ginger flavored ones aren't as good, they are harder, the pure maple ones are soft.
