A Bronx Tale: Peppy, enjoyable show - theater not so much

The show was quite enjoyable. Both funny and sad with good sets, excellent music and dancing. Similar to the the movie. Lots of action. The longacre is a charming old theater but... read more

After waiting outside in the cold to be let into the theater to see "A Bronx Tale," we were initially happy with our balcony seats on one far end in the fourth row. We had a good view of the stage in this old, intimate theater, and the heads of the people in front of us were low enough not... More

The show was quite enjoyable. Both funny and sad with good sets, excellent music and dancing. Similar to the the movie. Lots of action. The longacre is a charming old theater but way outdated. Tight seating and hard to see the whole stage with heads in front of you. Sat in the second row in the mezzanine and we were... More

We loved it!!!!! This play was spot on to growing up Italian style. Many sayings that my dad told me when I was younger came out of the mouths of these wise guys. Loved the play!!! Go see it if you we were thinking about going.

The Bronx Tale was playing in the Longacre Theatre. My 18 year old son and I got 2 tickets online and went last minute at the 7pm showing. The Theatre was small but comfortable. Got in and out with ease. Bathrooms were clean. The play itself was wonderful and I was so impressed by the little boy that played C.... More

The over all experience was great, especially the BronxTale! Seating in general seemed tight..but did enjoy the overall experience...in the Area you can also eat dinner, appetizer and or drinks right next door at Hurley's Saloon.. I do recommend ..

I enjoyed "A Bronx Tale", a newly opened musical at the Longacres Theatre. The musical score and livr theatrics greatly enhanced the film version starring Chaz Palmentieri and Robert DiNiro. The "curse" surrounding the Longacre portending failed, or disappointing productions in the past hopefully will be foiled with "A Bronx Tale". The theatre is quite old (100 years +) and... More

I saw "Allegiance" when I visited New York City last winter. The price per ticket was very reasonable, and it didn't feel like there was a bad seat in the house. A beautiful historic theatre, with lots of character and first-rate production. I wasn't disappointed by my first NYC theatre experience there, and would gladly visit again. A word of... More

Most will not rate this theater poorly, but if you have any trouble walking, are elderly, or just have difficulty with stairs, you really need to plan ahead. We got mezzanine tickets, and the elevator only serves the balcony. There's no warning about this when you buy tix, so it's a good thing the person we were with was not... More

This is a small theatre - at least compared to some of the other theatres on Broadway - but it's a gem, with good acoustics, nice but not ostentatious period decor, and the courtesy of having ushers bring water, wine and candy into the audience (though $5 is a little steep for a bottle of water that retails for well... Pretty typical Broadway theatre. Rest rooms up and down and some beautiful architecture. Of course, you typically choose a theatre by what's playing there and if you can catch Allegiance, it's wonderful.

Staying in Midtown

Neighbourhood Profile
Midtown
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit—spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's heaven where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit the Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.
