My boyfriend and I saw Dan White at the NoMad hotel (which was absolutely amazing, 5 stars), someone in the audience recommended we come see this show next.
We sat in the front row. To be honest, we walked away completely confused as to what...More
My boyfriend is a well known magician and creator and he was highly recommended to see this show. However it was a little bit disappointing because it's a high expectation for a show which ends up to be average, too alternative, and with about 4...More
My mother advised; 'if you can't say anything nice, say nothing at all'. However, I feel a public duty to type the following.
I splashed out $80 for a ticket that turned out to be $1.06 per minute or $13.33 per 'magic' trick.
First, this is not a magic show, and I knew that. It is a one man play with elements of magic incorporated into it. I think it has a very deep message delivered in a very unique way. I certainly enjoyed it. I thought the...More
Extremely disappointed in this "magic show." This show was composed almost entirely of long, drawn out overly dramatized stories. That are thinly veiled attempts to manipulate emotion. Morals of the stories are valid, but if you are looking for something entertainment and magic this show...More
In and of Itself
Curse you Steven Colbert. If you had not promoted this play on your show, I never would have known about it. If I had never known about it, I never would have attended. What a waste of time and money. Thankfully,...More
Other magicians said this was great - it was not. During the 90 minute show, there were 4 magic tricks interspersed throughout the show, an excellent display of card dealing and shuffling in the middle, and a great mentalism trick at the end. But the...More
Fascinating and interesting show with some slow spots. Part magic/illusion part philosophical musings about life this show is nothing if not original. There are some lulls but overall an entertaining and worthwhile experience.
This review is for “In + Of Itself,” which I watched last night at the Daryl Roth Theatre in NYC. I came to the show based on a friend’s recommendation and refrained from reading any reviews as I didn’t want spoilers. I wish I did...More
The Daryl Roth Theatre is a small, off-Broadway theater next to Union Square Park.
I saw In & Of Itself here and loved it. The intimate size of the theater definitely added to the intensity of the show, and I couldn't have imagined this performance...More
Hi, I was here with my two adult daughters. It is appropriate for their age but they will curse you for boring them with this act. It has a few card tricks, a couple of fair illusions and a lot of bla bla bla. The audio... More
Hi, I was here with my two adult daughters. It is appropriate for their age but they will curse you for boring them with this act. It has a few card tricks, a couple of fair illusions and a lot of bla bla bla. The audio is so bad that you must get in the first few rows. A general waste of time.
