A small retail location for the FDNY - not to be confused with the New York City Fire Museum

We found this store by accident while touring in NYC, so didn't have any preconceived expectations as other reviewers did who were actually trying to find it. Agree that the space is small, (keeping in mind the cost of retail space in the city) with displays accounting for three quarters of it and the rest, a store selling the usual... More

This is a small place near Radio City, but packs plenty in. Just inside is a pump engine which kids can push water through. There is a fireman there to talk through fire safety and explain the pump etc. A lot of FDNY stuff on sale Tshirts badges hats etc. Great for FDNY gear if that's what your after and... More

A helpful and fascinating guided visit which helps understand the important job of fire workers, enriched by videos and simulation of an escape from fire. Worth the money you pay and a small shop inside

An interesting visit where the duty fireman will talk you through fire safety and some interesting points on FDNY. Admire the many patches from different fire departments worldwide. Also a must is some souvenirs to get from the shop in recognition of the great service of the firemen!

I have always had a tremendous amount of respect of firefighters, for obvious reasons. I came here shortly after it opened for the day. I was able to try on a jacket and a helmet. I could sit in the fire truck. While I didn't partake, you could go to their simulation room to learn more about fire safety. Everyone... More

Went to NYC with a firefighter and we wanted to stop here. I thought it would be a little bigger and have a little more. Some neat patches all over to check out and some FDNY stuff to buy.

My husband wanted to visit here as he is a fire fighter. The sale staff in the store at the back where really friendly and enjoyed having a joke and discussing Scotland. However when we went to look at the fire fighting display etc, the ex fire fighter there was really quite rude. When he said for us to try... More

This was one of my highlights in Manhattan. Brought me to tears. Wasn't expensive. Extremely moving and worth every second I was there. I want my kids to go and see this. FDNY put this one together and did a fantastic job. Please include this in your trip to NYC....

Thank Jeff K

Staying in Midtown

Neighbourhood Profile
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit—spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's heaven where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit the Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.
