Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

It is considered an architectural landmark and maybe a work of art. To me it is just a skyscraper with a glass front, maybe one of the first, but it has been copied over and over and now seems ordinary. In an area of very expensive real estate.

The Seagram Building is located on Park Avenue. I have always admired this building as it has a very unique look to it in its darkened colours.

Perhaps it’s the orange glow from the windows against the darkened steel but it gives off a spooky look. Nice!

375 Seagram Building is the turning point in the urban development of the Park Avenue. Mies introduces an urban plaza that represents a ideated precursor for Manhattan that has been reinterpreted in innumerable examples of the high rise typology across the city

This modern skyscraper is considered a landmark in modern architecture because of the use of the glass walls, one of the first to do this. But to me it looks like a refrigerator box, just like so many others like it around the world. Ho hum.

Architectural historians will tell you this is a landmark building, a pioneer in the glass-and-steel era. Come and form your own opinion, but to me this is just plain and ordinary. It has been copied so often around the world in various ways that it now is nothing special and not very inviting or attractive.

On Park Avenue this New York building by Miles Van der Rohe is a glass box design with slender bands of bronze cutting through the smoked glass. Modern design and inside is the Four Seasons restaurant serving American cuisine.

The Seagram Building is an icon of modernism and is one of Mies Van Der Rohe's most famous towers. It's not only the minimal skyscraper that has influenced many future high rise buildings around the world, the urban plaza set back from Park Avenue was also innovative and a bold statement in 1958 when the project was completed. Definitely worth a passing look due to its architectural significance

For history and architecture buffs, the Seagram building is one of the best skyscrapers in Midtown. It has just gone through a painstaking and expensive restoration. The architect was Mies Van Der Rohe, the icon of modernist architecture. It stands out for its simplicity, its functionality, its clean lines, and its quality materials. It's setback from the street was innovative in its time. You cannot enter unless you have business here, but please stop and see a masterpiece.
