Visited this theater to see Adam Strauss' one-man show, The Mushroom Cure. Adam was great. Very sincere, funny and entertaining. I loved visiting a classic NYC theater and enjoyed the venue as much as the show. There is a great small bar attached to the...More

Still alive and going strong after many, many years. A true East Village legend. The charming exterior looks like it's right out of The Shire and you expect to meet Bilbo Baggins any moment. Solid productions and an other-worldly bar that serves absinthe! The only...More

Perfect setting for a small audience - not sure what the capacity is but it appeared that it can hold 150-200 people. The lighting and audio systems were good and the small setting allowed the audience to view the actors at close quarters.

A few days ago my wife and I were in this small, basic theater in the East Village. The seating is rather intimate, and any seat in the center is good, because there just aren't that many rows of seats. Seats on either extreme side...More

This less traveled but unique place is worth a look. They have a nice absinthe menu, which drew us in at first, but I also like their beer selection and the laid back vibe of the place. It was very quiet when we went, but...More

This is a "off Broadway" play and you must include in your visit to New York City. It is very interesting and a lot of fun

I went to see "Full House The Musical" here last weekend. It is a very small theater, so every seat is a good one. It's not fancy, but casual and worth visiting for an affordable show. There is a bar attached to the theater, so...More

You woudn't know there's a good sized theater behind the tiny long bar. but if you do for a show, be sure to grab a buckwheat crepe (the salty caramel was fantastic!) & a cocktail (I had a neat little whisky & ginger). The bar...More

There’s still an independent vibe to the East Village,
which offers plenty of unique small businesses
catering to longtime New Yorkers and area college
students alike. The East Village retains a bit of the
old-time neighbourhood feel that you can still
experience today thanks to a mix of locally-owned
shops, cozy restaurants, and lively bars. The scale of
