This is a nice little park that hosts sculpture in the center. When we were there it was Martin Puryear's Big Bling, a metal a wooden behemoth. In the winter it's pretty but bleak but there is a nice little outdoor Shake Shack cafe in the Madison Ave/3rd St corner to get something hot to eat and drink. The sound... More

Such a lovely little park. Located by the Flat Iron building and surrounded Surrounded by the hustle and bustle of some major streets, stepping into this square is stepping into a quiet, calming respite from the city. The traffic on the nearby streets feel miles away. It was amazing how quiet it felt. Surrounded by many lovely brick and plaster... More

We walked here after visiting the Empire State Building because we wanted to see the Farragut statue, which is a focus of the book "The Greater Journey" by McCullogh. it's a lovely park and it was fun to see New Yorkers spending time with their kids on the weekend. Also good view of flatiron building.

A free and fun way to spend the afternoon feeding the local squirrels, birds and us:O) We do not have squirrels in Australia so it was a relaxing and fun way to see the many squirrels come up to us for pieces of apple, also enjoyed the autumn leaves in the park.

Lovely little park, just opposite the flatiron building. So if you've walked to see the Empire State Building and Flatiron, pop in here as well. Very pretty.

Beautiful park with very friendly squirrels some of who will eat from your hand. For an overseas visitor the idea of a dog run is a novelty. Never seen so many happy dogs in the one place! A lovely park for a rest and to people watch.

Not far from Eately. Has a shake shack outdoor and a nice place to take a stroll. Walked through at night and felt very safe. Probably a great place to hang on a summer evening.

I wouldn't go out of my way to come here, but worth a short stroll if you're close by. Very cute little park.

The park atmosphere, feel and activities change through out the day and the season. Night time adds a new magic to the park. Yes, there is a Shake Shack in the park. Great view of the Flatiron Building on the edge of the park with a seating/viewing area or the and Empire State Building in the distance. Interesting sculptures.

Staying in Flatiron District

Neighbourhood Profile
Flatiron District
Offering many of city’s best restaurants and shops set amid classic New York architecture, the Flatiron District is no longer under the tourist radar. At 23rd Street is the famous triangular Flatiron Building, which makes a good picture no matter what angle you photograph it from. Be sure to look up at the elegant architecture as you stroll the streets- much of this neighborhood is part of a historic district that was home to many of the city’s most famous department stores at the turn of the century. At the northern end of the neighbourhood, Madison Square Park is best known for being the home of a famous burger shack, but it can also be a quiet refuge to spend an afternoon, and it frequently hosts interesting public art exhibits. In the lower part of the Flatiron District you'll find Union Square, a bustling crossroads at all times of day and night.
