I didn't realise there was a market at Grand central station but found it and went in when visiting the station for a look 👀. It was a small yet vibrant market with a good range of products. Worth a visit when there.

The most exciting displays of fresh meat and seafood. Beautiful displays of flowers. Everything you could want from strawberries as big as a child's hand to breathtaking desserts. Great artisan breads. You absolutely should take a stroll through they also have prepared meals if your visiting from out of town.

The market is awash with vibrant colors and smells. The spice vendor and the chocolatier are my favorites, but the farm to table selection is also amazing. A fun walk through or great place to shop.

I went in with time to kill before a late train home Friday evening. Handsome Companion was joining me for the train ride, having had a late meeting. I knew he would be hungry,... More

Excellent shopping for delicacies including seafood, meats, bakery, spices, cheeses as well as everything ethnic. Something for everyone. A little pricey, but worth every penny.

Fresh fish, fruit and meat. Take home meals and bakery goods. Spices, teas and coffees all by specialty vendors. Surprisingly decent prices. Good place to stop before getting on the train!

Staying in Midtown

Neighbourhood Profile
Midtown
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit—spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's heaven where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit the Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.
