I came here with my boyfriend who is a huge movie geek. This place features in Home Alone 2, Ransom and one of the Marvel movies (and I'm sure hundreds of others). There is a gorgeous fountain in the middle and it's right next to a lake where you can hire paddle boats. There was a busker there singing some... More

Most beautiful fountain in Manhattan. Great overview on the road above and lovely lake to the North rents row boats in the summer.

I have been there many times although I am from Upstate NY and by that I mean Albany/Schenectady area - not Rochester!!! WE purposely go there every time we go to partake of the amount of wonderful musicians that we hear there in a very tasteful way not to mention the beauty of the area. There is a somewhat good... The stairs bring you down through the sheltered area and out onto the terrace where the fountain unfolds and the the terrace rolls into the water and the hillside. Central parks ability to weave natural beauty with man made art is what makes it timeless. This is just another example of that, hope you enjoy the visit!

A sunny autumn afternoon in October. Blue sky and coloured leaves. My first walk in Central Park. Suddenly. There she was. The Black Angel in the middle of the Bethesda Fountain. I knew her from the film: Angels in America. High above all visitors who came to see her. Birds were sitting on her arms and head. A beautiful sight.... More

Right in the heart of Central Park is Bethesda Fountain, with Angel of the Waters perched on the summit. The name was inspired by The Pool of Bethesda referenced in the Gospel of John, "For an angel went down at a certain time into the pool and stirred up the water; then whoever stepped in first, after the stirring of the water,... the experience was pleasant. Good picnic spot. Preferable to go in groups. Scenic beauty & good for clicking pictures. No pollution. Food available inside the park for Non-Vegetarians. You will also get options of Massage there along with people with their cute dogs.

This is a beautiful place in Central Park, the fountain has a nice story which is worth reading before visiting. It reminds me of Angels in America, One Fine Day and other movies.....

The fountain was gorgeous and a great place to take pictures. Make sure to really take in the scene and look at all the different people around. So many tourist and also wedding photos being done.

Nice fountain in the middle of central park. Really close to strawberry fields. A bit smelly. A place for gathering for youth.
